James - OK. I have stopped looking up the definition of Zamboni based upon your use of the word in a weather context & reference to Azaleas. You have me stumped. Having grown up playing hockey my entire youth, having a friend get a job driving a Zamboni at the old Santa's Village in Dundee, IL etc. etc. etc. I am clueless w/ regard to what you mean by Zamboni. How did you muster up your usage of the term Zamboni? Do you scream ZAMBONI when you shank the ball or turn your wrists completely over on that 50 yard hook where you just drove the ball into the lake? I think I may smell a rat. Are you setting up a trap for us, James?

Norm,

Being born and reared a southern cracker all I really mean when i say " People who can spell Zamboni" is people who grew up up north [watching hockey]

I never saw [or heard] of a Zamboni until the Atlanta Flames came to town

It's " spose" to be funny

Come to think about it, I was 18 years old before I found out all Baptist weren't baptized [immersed] in a lake. At my grandfather's fish'in pond, we couldn't go fishing on Sundays, cause the pond was full of Baptist

James - Ah ha - gotcha. Some of my neighbors who know I can spell Zamboni call me by a different name - it rhymes w/ Kiwi, Pee Wee, Left Knee, Right Knee & Peony. I learn new stuff daily, such as the true Southern meaning of 'Bless Your Heart'.

I just figured Zamboni was a complicated word not everyone could spell.

Hi everyone.

Found out when I got to work I needed to help with inspection, so that's what I did today. The other guy that helps out was actually up, but they specifically asked if I could help. That makes me feel good, that I actually am helpful to them, they are appreciative. And, we finished up a little after 12, and my lead said I could go. How about that. A guy called in sick today that's why I was down there, don't know what tomorrow will bring.

Norm I get called that, too, like it's supposed to be an insult. Nope. I say, hell ya! One time someone (from Wisconsin) said I was a fib. That too.

So it's partly sunny out, but chilly. I think I'll hit Walmart this afternoon and get all my shopping done for next week, as well as the few things I need right now. Maybe after our profit sharing comes out next month I'll shop at Publix a couple times, just to give myself a break from the unwashed masses. And I mean that literally.

Jamesbo did the mom know she was a short timer when she visited before? Imagine not finding out you didn't like someone until after you were dead, and being stuck with them forever.

Okay off to Walmart. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Mike, The truth is I NEVER ask many questions/ It falls under the rather large umbrella of " None of my business"

But if I had to guess, I'd say yes, she knew and that's what caused all [most of] her friends and family to go with her and be with her when she picked out her spot.

Kinda of a "We're with you mom," thing Even though they wouldn't be with her for a while

BTW check you messages

That is just plain BULL$HIT. A$$HATS.

The city gained notoriety during the 1950s and 1960s for its aggressive traffic enforcement policies. The AAA went so far as to specifically label Ludowici as a speed trap.[citation needed] Members of the local police force were allegedly engaging in manipulation of the timing of the traffic signal downtown, so as to catch unsuspecting out-of-area motorists "running" a suddenly changed red light. The switch for the stop light was located in the barber shop. The traffic light was at an intersection that was bypassed by a shortcut (Main Street - see a local map) so that local residents would not even come to the light when making the turn at the light. Thus, all the tickets went to nonresidents without the police having to be selective since no locals would be at the light. A song was also written about the town.

Ensure you provide a very short but descriptive title e.g. BOPC SWAP MEET - DATE - LOCATION

Hi everyone.

Perry Perry Refrigerator Perry. Rompin' and a stompin' for the Bears. Perry Perry Refrigerator Perry, 72 is the number that he wears.

Regular time out of work today. A little slower pace than usual, but we still finished before last break. I didn't have to do inspection today.

I think there's still towns like Ludowici. You know I remember when I was little the town I'm from the yellow light never came on. Traffic lights went from green to red. The yellow one was there, but it was skipped.

Kind of gloomy today. It spits rain now and again, and had rained at some point today while we were in the bunker.

Tiger and I might run an errand this afternoon, I haven't decided yet. I need to go over to the shop to make sure it's still there. I haven't been over there in weeks. Almost time to call the guy in Athens to take the big truck up and spend money on it. I should go over there and start it up and let it idle. I really should take it for a ride, but I don't see that happening today.

No other earth-shattering news. Think I need a snack. See ya's.

Went to see brother in law Carl yesterday. Wow he is doing well. He walks around in his house w/walker, etc. Sister in law asked me if I could change shower head for one that is on a flexible hose so I did it- yep Carl had to help, came in with his walker... He's back to being Carl! How Excellent!! His kidney functions aren't back and he has to do dialysis, but they think they will come back.
-- Hope all is well with you guys!

Hi everyone.

Done around 11, out at 12. No real point to sitting around an hour but I did get to read Wikipedia about Dallas Love airport.

Sun is out now, but still chilly. It's been dreary and dank all day up to now. We really are due some nice weather that will stick around.

True to my word, Tiger and I are going to run a couple errands and then hit the Awful house. Then I'm gonna start up the stove so we're toasty warm. Last night I had no luck getting a fire going, and at bedtime I gave up and figured I'd try again tonight. Well, woke up a couple hours later and the thing was just a-blazing. Must have been some coals on the bottom that finally got something going. Sorry I missed it, but the point of the whole thing is to warm up the room and keep the furnace from coming on.

Greg that's great news about Carl. May he continue to get better.

Jamesbo I've been trying to figure out for days what "meat and 3" means. No idea. We should just make some plans. John and I talked about Dillard House when they come back up.

Odd, half of my internet doesn't work. The MSN page doesn't load when I turn on the computer, craigslist won't come up, but this site and (of course) facebook come up immediately. The jetpack is fully charged. I'm really becoming less enamored with Verizon all the time. Might be time for Track Phone from Walmart.

Okay gonna git to gittin' . Have a good afternoon everyone.

Mike,

Meat and 3 = Ham+ green beans+ taters+ okra

or meat loaf = lima beans + mashed taters+ collard greens

1 meat and 3 veggies

Waffle House

Poke chop + sliced maters+ salad, +hash browns [ they don't have alot of veggies]

The Diilllard House is really more like 6 meats and 20 different veggies but us crackers still call my home cooking places meat and three

But there are also a few Meat and threes closer

Let me know when you have time for a repast

Jamesbo you know all the good places. They had me at country fried steak.

Just got back from the Awful house and running errands. I think waffles are a vegetable.

Again starting with the stove. Having about the same luck. I'll keep at it.

My phone just went into some auto-update and now it's made it to where I can't delete phone numbers. That is a step backwards. Bring back the flip open phone.

I was pulling into the drive-through @ Dunk'n Donuts several days ago - early in the morning (~7:00AM) - to grab a cup of coffee to drink while grocery shopping (before I made coffee at home). A woman in a car was in a bigger hurry than me apparently and sorta darted right towards me as I was turning into the drive-through lane. I was in no hurry, so I waved her in front of me. When I got to the window to pay the Dunk'n Donuts person gave me my coffee and said the woman in front of me had already paid for my coffee.

Good morning everyone.

Oh how I love the weekend to sleep in. 6:45. That is really living. Although, it's almost three hours more than during the week. Not bad actually.

Just got back from Awful house. Looks like it's going to be a nice day. I'd love to get out and work on the 57 Chevy, we'll see how wet the pavement is underneath it.

Jamesbo I got a question for you, since you built a subdivision, and your tree debacle. What do you know about the streets? Why in the world do they put the manhole covers on the edge of the lanes(and sunk down three inches) so your car bounces over them every 20 feet? Why can't they put them in the middle of the lane, or better yet off the street entirely?

Norm how many fingers did you wave to her with? Nice of her to buy your coffee. She must have felt guilty.

I'm going to seek out someplace for country fried steak for my supper, it sounds good. We actually called it chicken fried steak up home. My Grandmother made it and called it that, must be an old timey thing.

Okay have a good weekend everyone. Last one of the month.

I love chicken livers. I bake mine. I haven't had any in awhile; now, you've piqued my appetite, James. I can take or leave Cajun Boudin. It depends on what's inside and how it's been cooked. I have some I thought was just crap, and some which was delicious. It's about the same for most sausages for me - some suck, and some I love. My favorite sausage is the family hand-me-down hard sausage we make from venison & pork - about 60:40 (venison to pork) w/ the secret spices/ingredients - made raw, enclosed in natural casings & dry-cured (hanging) for ~6 weeks. I played 18 yesterday & today. Shot well - normal scores for me. I guess I'll spend a couple hours vacuuming, cleaning walls in the man-cave while the weather is nice. Spiders $HIT an awfully lot.
