Evening all

Still waiting for the first snow this year, just rain and chilly. Given up for the moment looking for the villa in Spain as the wife has now decided she wants to move at home......hmm
Saw a nice property today but it means I would need to sell two to afford it.

Happy Bday Jamesbo, another year wiser!

Inline. I haven't forgotten your mince pies they are hard to find in the shops after Christmas but I will keep looking.

Morning.
Usual day. Not alot to do. Maybe i go attach my ( hobby-quality, 10 metric tons ) hydr.press to table so it dont move around anymore when trying to do something. Its annoying.

LondonCutlass - No problem. Still 19 years of house dept left, not going to leave any time soon....

Have a nice tuesday everyone.

Good morning everyone.

Jamesbo try a different wrench. sometimes the really small ones get the ends chewed up and won't work.

Lake seems to be going down, so this afternoon I'll go see if I can start working. I need to take advantage of every moment. I've decided I'm going to bump the wall out a couple feet and then fill in. I'll build a deck on top of the extra space and that will take the place of the dock.

The warm-up should start today. Forties today and 70s by the weekend. I'll take it. I wouldn't mind if this was the end of winter, but I have a feeling it's just indian summer.

Okay Awful house. Have a good day everyone.

Sorry, somehow missed this post totally.

Dunno is it possible on your situation, and whats best.
But what i do always when those allen screws round out ( which they usually do) is to use equivalent or one size bigger torx-socket, and hammer it on the bolt as far as it goes. Then attach wrench to that socket and turn it out.
It totally destroys the bolt for future use, but 99% times it bites so hard there due to the shape of torx-head that they come out.

I just got my hyd.press installed. Didnt even took long when i got started..

I have NO idea what that means I assume its small anyways since you speak of door ****.

Countersunk drill-bits? You should get them at really small sizes. But then you would need small electric, adjustable screwdriver to not bust it up.

Glad to hear it worked out.

And good Morning. Really late, but Morning still.

Grey, rains "freezed water", and windy to top it all. Not nice weather.
Its freakin cold outside.

Did write and send my first job application. I quess i never learn? I have one spoken-for ( not written under yet) place, with about ~35k$ income per season ( btw thats ~5k$ over average salary for a WHOLE year for car mechanic here. Quess why i switched 5 years ago without hesitation). I thought at start of winter when last season ended, that i might go there, i have my house, american car, and everything else i need, so i could live nicely with that income. Yes?

NO! Now thinking about losing from 10k to 20k$ brt. income per season sounds a no-no. What magnificent things i can buy with that much more money??? So now im sending applications first to companies which i know does as much, or even more work per season than my previous company.
Yes, im greedy I quess i never learn?

I dont remember have i said this to you ever, but ive personally critisiced our unemployment payment system pretty hard. It was intented for "normal" workers working at factory. Because its at direct relation to your yearly income, regular factory-worker would receive for 500 days, or until re-employment ( that goes to us too), calculated % of his income as unemployment payment, so he can atleast get all the bills paid and even some food on table, while looking for new job or organising his/her life to match current situation without work.
I get it, we are really small amount of workforce on Finland ( asphalt-workers, quess we are like 0.000001% or something) so it does not ruin public economy, but its totally unfair. I just get payment today from 20 days. ****, 101$ brt per day for sitting at home, with your front-fingers third joint at nose wondering what should i do today. I know this sounds ridicolous, cause im the one benefitting, but that actually makes me mad. Cant express better with my current level of english-language, but i hope you understand at some level what i mean.
Of course it would be almost everyones dream to get money for nothing, i quess im the 0.0001% that keeps it insane.
There should be atleast some cap on how much can you get, and if i would be deciding, you would be required to do x-amount of work for state per week to continue receiving those payments. Something that anyone else wont do, like cleaning the nature or something like that.

Have a nice wednesday everyone. Hmm, weird feeling of getting mad just because of receiving money..?

Edit: Hey btw, ive meant to ask this many times before, but somehow havent yet. Does any of you have the same ANNOYING problem where this site(?) changes the first letter of word to be "big" in the middle of sentence, and seemingly randomly? I hate it. And dont even bother to fix them every time anymore..

Mernin', all.

Temps very moderate here as well. Mega-fog this morning. Had to be careful at headin' out at Zero-Dark-30.

Still workin' in orifice. It's out to the garage when I finish, so maybe I'm taking my time.

Inline, I feel your pain -- if you want to call it that. I don't want to get started.

Hi everyone.

First day of my week. Here I am. Lost track of time this afternoon because my neighbor called and said she made me Italian Wedding soup. Oh boy is that good.

Nice and warm today, it was over 70 when I woke up this afternoon. The lake is down far enough that tomorrow I can start working on the wall. This is going to be a big project, don't think I'll get finished but in two months time I'll get as far as I can.

Bought a battery for the convertible over the weekend. Been wanting to do that for awhile. There's a place by me that rebuilds batteries and has new ones, and they are way cheeper than the auto parts store. I go there a lot.

Okay guess I'll do something. Only three this week then my schedule changes. Don't mind that. Have a good evening everyone.

Hi everyone.

Another stellar day out. Over 70 and the sun was out some of the time.

This afternoon I started on the wall. It was still a little too wet to do any digging so I salvaged as much as I could of the blocks that had fallen in a couple years ago. Still have more but I had to come in to get ready for work. Got quite a few so I'll use these as the base of the new wall where they won't be seen.

Jamesbo I think I'm better off winging this one. I'm not as patient as John is. More than once though I've thought about your idea. I'm sure the lake people would have a stroke.

Work was good last night. One of my planes went back out and another never made it in, so I had a break. Same lead tonight so I'm sure he'll load me up to make up for it. That's okay. A bad day in this department is still better than the best day in my old department. I'm not ever going to forget that.

Okay gonna git to gittin' . One more and it's the weekend. For all of us. Have a good evening everyone.

Hi everyone.

Another wonderful day out. Odd how I miss the middle of the days now. I do notice that the days are getting longer. Only a minute a day, but hey it's something.

Dan I need to get my hair cut as well. I'm looking like a mop these days. I've got precious few grays but everything seems to be receding. Might have to look into the hair club or something.

Jamesbo how'd you do? Whitey on Friday, a novelty.

No work on the wall today. I've decided, once and for all, that I'm going to abandon my grandiose plans of extending the yard out into the lake, and just repair what I had. There's a section off to the side that needs some attention so once the main part of the wall is finished I may come up with something clever to replace it. Tomorrow I'm going to buy new block and some mortar.

And now off to it. Hope everyone has a good evening and a good weekend.

Evening all

Another busy day in chilly London Town.
Work was the easy bit, then I had a meeting with our member of Parliament. The local town council have decided in their wisdom to introduce parking restrictions and charges to my whole town and the whole town is really pi55ed. After this was the town meeting. 200 people turned up and I thought at one point it would descend into a riot.
Next week I am due to address a full Council meeting on behalf of our business forum. Never a dull moment.

Surprise surprise we actually had a whole hour of snow in London. First snow for a few years.

Sorry Jamesbo I must admit I missed your radio thing, must be the time difference!
Inline if I get the new house I'm after it also has a sauna, we can compare beer tasting in the sauna.

Have a safe weekend and keep warm.

Sometimes i wonder when my hair stops to grow, annoying to need cut it off weekly Since my year at army i havent kept hairs on my head, custom which left to civil from army.

And good afternoon everyone. Was a nice Cruise. Tho used so much money im crying.. Well, fiancee was happy, thats the main thing, but all the parts i could have bought to Cutlass....
And coming home today ment 2 hours of snow-work, had rained quit alot meanwhile. And now it was just on plus-side, so it was very heavy too.

LondonCutlass - I promise you wont be disappointed to sauna. Just try to get real one, which is heated with wood. Electric ones are okayish too, but nowhere near the wooden counterparts. Best sauna stoves are made in Finland. Buy one made here. I can HIGHLY recommend Sydänkiuas - wooden stoves, i have one. Its not cheap, but its worth every penny. Mine is ~1200$.

Well, speaking of it. Ill go heat sauna now. Then ive deserved some beer!
Have a nice saturday-evening everyone!

Good morning everyone.

Got home early and crawled into bed, only to be wide awake. This is a trend I'm not caring for. So after an hour or so of tossing and turning I got up and went to the Awful house. Then to go get some block and then to the shop and now I'm home. Supposed to be nice and warm this afternoon so I hope I can get all the block put down that I bought.

One month since I lost my girl. I can't get used to how still the house is.

So this is my first bid for weekend day off. So far so good. When I go back Tuesday I'll see who all the new people are, some mechanics and a couple new leads.

Okay guess I'll get to it. That wall isn't going to build itself. Have a good Saturday everyone.

Good morning strangers! I keep wanting to get on here more often but things always seem to get in the way. I work at a computer all day so sometimes I just don't feel like sitting in front of one when I get home. I do check in once and a while, but don't seem to get around to posting much anymore.

The last couple of months of car show season here the Cutlass was running great. Need to re-calibrate my aftermarket speedometer but have an app on my phone that works until then.

I've got a few more updates but out of time for now.

Enjoy your day everyone!

LondonCutlass- Imagine all your worries washing away, all your muscles relaxing, and overall serenity taking over you. Thats called sauna.
It totally zeroes EVERYTHING that has happend before. Your like newborn after it.

Yes, i just came from sauna. Spend almost 2 hours there. Best time of my life. Now im drinking Armagnac. Its like Conjac, same "family" of drinks. This one is really strong tasting and smelling.

Just got a call, i would have a spot on same garage where my friend with his Valiant is. Tempting. Only thing not so tempting would be to carry all tools from one garage to another. Still thinking, but i think im answering "yes".

Jamesbo - Stuffed artichokes are yammy! Save some My fiancee does them now and then, and i love them.

car_designer: Hi. Ill believe that after working whole day at Computer, its not first thing on mind at home. But drop a line now and then, the more the merrier, right?

One of the updates I mentioned earlier was that I recently bought another vehicle. After driving the Mustang through 4 winters I started looking at something more winter appropriate and ended up buying a used 4runner. I've heard good things about Toyota and hope this one lives up to the reputation.

Today was cold but dry and on and off sun so took it for a drive down to NY state and stopped at Texas Roadhouse for lunch followed by Sonic for a milkshake. Wishing Sonic would cross north of the border someday.

Inline, I keep saying this but I'll try to get on more often.

Funny you should mention a 10 year old 4runner, guess how old mine is? They do seem to hold their values. When I started looking, I couldn't believe what they are going for but I'm happy with the one I found.
