Geez Allan take hold of yourself. Hydrate! Hydrate! Aint' nothin' worth heat stroke.

I had an S10 pickup years ago and loved it. Never towed with it. I want something I can tow the Amphicar around with and also have the pool folded up in the back. I was also thinking El Camino.

Went to get the Mustang tonight. It looked worse than it did! You can still see the scratch, plus they got some shadow forward of the scratch where it was fine before. The guy came out and said man it looks great don't you think? I said actually I think it looks like sh--. I thought he was going to turn a somersault he looked so shocked. Heck you can still feel the scratch. I said, you get to try it again. Sheesh. So it stays there another week.

Nice night out. A little humid but pleasant. I think I'll just sit out on the back porch with the dogs and listen to the bugs. It's the loudest quiet I've ever heard.

Well, I was supposed to head to the Gilmore Car Museum tomorrow for the Red Barns Spectacular with a bud, called tonight to confirm, and he had made other plans, he forgot. I had brought it up last week, and he indicated that he wanted to go, as we hadn't been there yet this year, so that blows.

Good morning everyone.

Cool today. Hope the rain stays away. So far looks like it's gonna be nice.

Jamesbo I already have a 2500 4x4. It costs a king's ransom to operate and I'm trying to get that down some. Although like I told another guy on here I can buy a lot of gas for what I'd pay to buy, maintain, and insure yet another vehicle. So who knows.

Dan that's a very good article. One of the more accurate ones I've read. If one has never driven their car into the water on purpose, it's a thrill I recommend it. Well, if the car floats that is. Why don't you go to Gilmore by yourself? I just read the Lincoln museum is opening soon. That would be a good one to take in.

Okay Awful house. Don't know if I'll get to the Deuce's oil today. The lawn really needs mowing. I gotta go to Walmart. Plenty of other things to do to take up my time. I wonder why when I have all that other stuff to do changing oil doesn't trump it.

Happy Saturday all.

Happy Saturn Day, boys & girl...

Elsie appears to be making a grand entrance later today... Better get anything outside done before the afternoon.

Been on S. Shore every day cleanin' and workin' on the house. Supposedly, 3 people came to see it, and all 3 were horrified by its location on I-10 Service Rd. I wonder what part of the address they can't read in the listing? It sounds rather obvious to me where it's located just by the address. Oh, well. As I told the agent, all it takes is one. And it's only been on the market for a week. I'll be down every day next week with a painter we're hiring so's I can help. Jamesbo, yer welcome to join us ;-)

Cool display with that pool, Mike! Sorry about that miserable scratch. It's really something when doing nothing would have looked better than what they did. And for the record, I'm guessing that S-10 may be rated for towing maybe 2,500 - 3,000 lbs., which really means: anything more than a garden trailer and a lawn mower and you're flirting with disaster.

Clint, I've been taking my vehicles to this guy up near Tickfaw (I know none of you know where that is, but it's about 20 miles from me) that I met in church. He's got a pretty impressive (and big) repair shop and he treats me fairly. First, the F-150 A/C conked out AGAIN after only 2 months of cool air. This time, he had to replace the evaporator, which he said essentially "exploded" -- huge hole in it. Unfortunately, it's a bear to replace, of course. Whole dash has to come out. Set me back almost a grand. But it's icy cool for the time being. That's either the 5th or 6th time I've had that truck in the shop for a/c since I bought it new in Y2K. Definitely the weak link, but if I'm gonna' keep it, I gotta' have air -- especially if we take it up to the hills now & again in summertime.

Then I kept getting more & more paranoid about the Camry brakes, w/ over 200k miles and they were all original. So I brought it in on Wed. and he said they would go ahead and put new ones on. So, it was new rotors & pads all around, plus a new serpentine belt & tensioner. I thought a little over $600 sounded pretty fair for all that. Easy come, easy go... beats the heck out of new car payments. Now, we're suppsed to bring in the better half's Fusion to the dealer for a throttle body recalibration. Since it was replaced last year, the car has never gotten the fuel mileage it got before. So the sooner the better.

Have fun in da' hills, Jamesbo. Sounds like dat horrific meeting was par for the course. At least you weren't disappointed.

Scot, so sorry to hear of the plight w/ Daughter #2. It's a shame that you can't swap their hormones for mature frontal-lobe gray matter at that age. I guess it's just a matter of getting thru that stage alive nowadays. But it sounds like you have your hands full... hang in there, brother!

Sandy, things sound like they're movin' really fast now ... Still in our thoughts & prayers! I want you to get all better fast and we'll see the "new" Sandy at the next CO Summit. Hard to belive it's going on a year pretty soon since our Fox trip.

Whelpt, got a million other things I'm workin' on here and on S. Shore, but better go now to do them rather than talk about 'em~ No S. Shore today. Headed to eat some fried seafood in Hammond tonite with friends.

Have a great weekend, Oldsmofriends.

Pics shortly. Several hundred cars, could not have seen them all, they were expecting 1200! I don't think they got that many, but a lot were there, a beautiful day, and I got a little sun. The Lincoln Museum is slated to have it's grand opening next Sat. the 9th. My brother wanted to go to that but, we have another show that day (the Del Shannon Memorial Car Show) in Coopersville, Mi., so I plan on going down there to see it in the fall, when they dedicate the Cadillac/LaSalle museum.

Evening all.

Got a question for Clint, Scot, anyone that knows. How do I jumpstart/charge the batteries on a 28V system?

Went out to the Deuce today to start it up and got not much. I think it's been sitting over a month. The batteries are two 12V connected by the short jumper wire. One battery is sealed the other is full on water.

Do I have to disconnect them to charge them if I only have a 12V charger? Can I charge just one and then start it up? If I found a 24V charger would I hook one cable to one battery and the other to the other battery?

I looked up the TMs for the Deuce and all I saw was about 30 entries of M35 Specific to Multifuel. Not helpful.

Thanks you guys. Beautiful here. Got my mowing done.

Good morning everyone.

Nice day out, and cool. I like it, but I hope it isn't a precursor to a long, hard winter.

Thanks Allan. No I meant 24V, I must have been thinking about airplanes when I wrote that. Funny, we never jumpstart the airplanes.

Not sure what to do today. All the things I -should- do are inside, and I want to be outside. If I go outside I'll only screw around all day and not get anything done. But I'll have fun. Hm, wonder what will win.

Okay Awful house time. Have a good Sunday all.

Well it's still morning here, so good morning all.

Sunny Sunnandaeg!

Gonna be another hot and humid one here. Funny how humidity can wreck things. Temp wise it's only about 73, but with humidity today close to the 90% mark it's going to feel like 90 or more. No breeze to speak of either. Funny in the winter there's wind chill, now in the summer there's humidex. Go figure - meteorologists way to find a way to make temperatures feel worse than they are.

Mike - Hope you get the deuce going. I googled 'starting a jet' just to see how that's done. Pretty cool.

LOL things I should do are outside, but I want to stay inside today for the most part. I know you can't believe this but I can't wait for the cooler weather to come back.

So this is how smart I am. It's probably the best day the year is going to see here and I elect to do stuff inside.

Cool Jamesbo I love spare parts. Why did you convert the Jeep? Probably made it easier to live with.

Allan I had to google starting a jet engine as well. All we do is flip a switch, it's all automatic. I don't know what article you read but the one I read I got about a paragraph into it before I had seen enough. Big jets don't have electric motors to start the engine, it's done by bleed air off the Auxiliary Power Unit. Now, the APU has an electric starter. In fact its starter also doubles as the generator. I suspect if I would have kept reading it would have said the front set of blades(the fan) turns the back set of blades(the turbine), which is backwards. The turbine spins the fan. Oh well.

Finally making it outside in a few minutes. It's going to be a battery charging afternoon. Besides the Deuce needing a boost, so does the convertible and the Cadillac. The wagon probably will soon, as when we started it before I bought it the regulator started smoking. It was weird, it was as soon as the engine started. So we unplugged it.

Kinda quiet here today. Must be nice everywhere. See ya's later. Or as people around here think we say, see yous guys later. We don't say that.

I'm not that technical Mike. I watched a couple videos on the web. On one they used the APU bleed from other engines, and on another they used a start cart that runs compressed air to the air turbine stater. It was a cool video. Here if you're interested.

Hi everyone.

Monday for me. I hope this week is as tame as last week. Although, it's supposed to rain just as soon as I'm done Thursday morning. Oh well.

So I went out to pull weeds in front of the house yesterday. I thought, there won't be any poison ivy because it's all on the other side of the driveway. Guess what. The poison ivy on the side of the driveway is only 8 feet away and I got it all over my arms, again. I'm not very bright. Well, it's only a week of itching.

Dan snow is awful at any time. Cool pictures, though.

Allan I liked that video of the guy describing how to start the jet engine. Too bad we can't have bell shaped inlets on the engines, they are the most efficient inlet. Not terrific for aerodynamics in flight, though.

Ran a couple errands this afternoon and came around a corner and hit a traffic jam where there really shouldn't be one. Saw an accident and emergency vehicles and as I slowly crept past saw a cop giving the field sobriety test to a hippy looking guy. Gee, 230 on Monday afternoon and he's already lit. I don't know what he was driving but they were both pretty smashed.

So Re: the errands I was out looking for dog food. Struck out. So, I made the executive decision to get a different kind. We'll see if the dogs like it. If they do then I'm getting that one and not worrying about the other. I don't get why that one is so popular. It's like paste packed into the can whereas the others are at least chunky.

So my neighbor and sister in law were here last week, and now they've gone. I only saw them one time. The neighbors are coming back for the winter in October. I can guarantee you if I go up to see them again I'm flying.

Yesterday afternoon I went out with my 12V charger to get the Deuce started. I unhooked the jumper cable(between the two batteries) and let each battery charge about 20 minutes. Then hooked it up and it started right up. Let it run at idle, then 1500rpm, then idle for probably a whole of 40 minutes. After reading up on battery safety I wore my safety glasses, plugged the charger into the wall last after hooking everything else up, and was careful not to wiggle the clips on the terminals. All things I never did before.

Okay off to Big D. Hope everyone has a good evening. The pressure is off, Monday is over.

Hi everyone. Haven't been on here now in almost 3 weeks and am trying to catch up on what's going on with everyone. Forgive me as I will try read all of your posts. I'll at least let you know what I've been up to in the meantime:

My family and I rented a lake house in upstate NY for a week which was a lot of fun. Kids enjoyed fishing and paddle boating, and we got to see many relatives which was nice. There was no internet or wifi so I was basically off the grid.

Our dog has been really sick for the last couple of weeks but seems to be getting better. However he now has some kind of renal issue going on to go with his congestive heart failure. We've been busy cleaning up messes and making the vet richer.

My business picked up a new line for joint health last week. Seems like a great new product, and I picked up a new account tonight so I was pretty excited.

Well, that's all I can think of for now, hope you all have a good night.

Mornin all.

John, you should spread out those repairs a bit. Then it doesn't seem like such a shock.

Darrell good to hear the biz is good. sorry to hear about the pup.

Been busier than a one armed paper hanger. we had a team race on Saturday. $ of us took turns racing for 12 hours straight on the dirtbikes. Then we raced 2 hours on the Quads on Sunday. Brutal. Then to top it off, Lynette bought me tickets for Chicago/ REO Speedwagon in concert at Red Rocks last night. I'm getting too old for this.

I'm busy trying to find a replacement trailer. I think we are going to turn ours in to the insurance. The buyback is pretty steep for a 14 year old trailer. They have it at about 37% of value and with the other issues, it's better to just let them have it.

Have a Tuesday? Yea Tuesday.

Yeah, it's Tuesday! Still any Tuesday you can spend on the green side is a bonus! I overdid it yesterday outside and am paying for it today. I feel like I need a walker to get around. Everything hurts.

Another hour or so and the Sonata will be in the body shop. Can't wait to get it back looking purty again.

Jim - How'd yer sojourne wit whitey go yesterday?

Clint - Sorry to hear about the insurance low ball. Hope you find a replacement at a good price. LOL my friend, wait till you get really old. Hey! I'd love to go to REO concert. I still love their music.
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=zpOULjyy-n8"]http://

Darrell - Welcome back! Congrats on the new account. I suspect you'll have a difficult decision to make soon with your dog, sorry to hear about that.

Adrian - Time to come out of hiding. FB is only one media my friend. How's the family doing?

Well time for a quick cuppa kaffeeklatsch and then git underway. Enjoy your day!

Jamesbo, and Allan. They offered a very fair value if I turn it over to them. They offered $7400. on a 14 y.o. trailer that cost us a little under $15K new. I just think the buy back is high. If the trailer only had Hail damage and no other issues, I would buy it back and continue to use it. But I think with the other issues which seem to be structural, keeping the trailer is not in my best interest. I don't want to have to try to sell it when I do find a replacement.

I misunderstood what you originally posted Clint. Sorry bout dat.

Well I'm driving around now in a 2014 Ford Fusion. Wish it was the Titanium edition, but it's still nice. Doesn't have as good visibility as the Sonata, but a very nicely appointed and riding car. Tomorrow it's going on a 400 mile road trip so I'll get a chance to evaluate economy. Should be decent as it has the smaller engine. I noticed that right away pulling away from stop. So much digital crap on the dash it was intimidating at first. Thank God for owners manuals. It's like learning to drive a friggen puter.

Oh yeah, it's white...

Jim - yor desparaging 18 would be a dream come true for me. I still haven't even regripped my clubs cause ever single one of em never got hooked to the battery tender las year. Don't even got any divets in de lawn from a practice swing yesterday (7 iron). Still feels good tho.

Afternoon All!

Just had some rain move through. It was sun/clouds all morning and temps in the 70's and humidity. Supposed to be rainy tomorrow morning too.

I might not go to Hudson tomorrow night. I need to work on this costume of Nicoles that she doesn't have a clue on how hard this thing is going to be to make. She's never sewed anything....

So what a stressful day yesterday was! I left here at 11:45 to go to Chardon to see Dr. Banks. I was there at 12:35, my appt was at 12:45. Waiting room was full. I finally got back in a room at 1:45! I told the girl I have to be in Akron by 4:00. Dr. Banks comes in at 2:05. I go over the bothersome things with him. He doesn't seem to think anything needs to be done -said how hard chemo is on the bladder and he thinks its just irritated. Said if I'm still having the problems in December to let him know. He asked for a copy of the CT scan when I get that done in a couple weeks. Said to ask them if they can include some of the pelvis region so he can see if there's anything funky looking going on inside me. So I need to call them and ask. I forgot... so anyhow, I get out of there finally and bust a$$ to get home and get Teepo. Left home at 3:20 called Larry so he could meet me at Dons. Got there at 3:45. Dropped Teepo and headed to Dr. Rehmus. Did not get great news.... seems I cant breathe good because I have 'mild' emphysema! Now isn't that lovely? So she wants me to see a lung doc for 'therapy' before the surgery. So there go the 19 paid days I thought I would have so I would get paychecks in Sept when I'm off. I thought I had it all worked out and I felt calmer.

I don't know what this therapy is going to involve yet.... theyre trying to get me scheduled and will call when they do. More trips to Akron...

So after that wonderful visit I had to go get the port flushed. We left the hospital at 5:00. Grumpyass wasn't happy with the traffic! He dropped me at the Riverfront at 5:15. Teepo was parked halfway down. I got a burger and fries since I hadn't ate since breakfast and I had a headache. Then Pam came and I was telling her about the emphysema and I just had a meltdown and started crying. I was so embarrassed. My friends gathered round and hugged me and told me it would be okay. So I didn't really get to walk around and look at the Oldsmobiles.

I'm just bone weary and mentally exhausted. I feel like a tight rubber band that's about to snap. I really cant take much more bad news. I can't. I told Steve about my surgery date and wrote it on the calendar and told him about the lung thing and started crying again. Nothing they can do about it.... it will just get progressively worse. Manageable with inhalers and such for a while.

She didn't blame my former smoking. I was surprised. Larry asked her if it was from the chemo and of course she said no. I told her the guy doing the breathing tests said chemo can cause scar tissue in the lungs and I read about it too. Gee.... I wasn't short of breath until February and I told her about it then. Don't tell me it wasn't that evil taxotere! Friggin liars....

So I am just depressed. I'm trying to get my mind wrapped around this horrible surgery and recovery and now this. I just keeping asking why? Why me? I don't get it.

So anyhow. Larry will be leaving Thursday I think for Iowa to go get his old truck he bought. I am sooo looking forward to him being gone for a few days! Is that bad?? I'm covering up that camera in the breezeway the minute he leaves so when he goes to spy on us from out there, all he will see is black! I cant wait to NOT BE WATCHED!!!! I looked for the the book on the cameras and I cant find it. Don't know where he put it. He bought himself one of those computer tablet thingys and I don't know if he got the cameras installed on it yet. I overheard him telling Jr that he had to do that before he left. Now I ask you why? What the hell does he think is going to go on?? I should invite a bunch of car guys over and have them all wave at the cameras when they pull in...... I just might.

I've about had my fill of everything.

Darrell.... nice to hear from you. Glad your business is going well and you're enjoying some of the summer.

Well I better get off here. Thanks for listening to me bit*h once again! Have a great evening all.

Hi everyone.

Running a little late tonight. A friend of mine called just as I was getting ready for work and we talked for a half hour. Not part of the work day schedule. I hadn't heard from her for over a month so it was nice to talk.

Oh Sandy. If I could I'd do the Jeanie arm crossing thing and make everything go away. That's a long trip for Larry to make just to flip that truck. Does he have any more family out there that he's going to go see?

Darrell hope the pup gets better. Glad your business is doing well. We haven't heard any more talk about selling the Cutlass. That's a good thing.

The dogs scarfed their new food down like there's no tomorrow. What a relief. I have a few more cans to make sure they like it, but I think we touched on something new. If they continue to like it I won't get that other kind anymore.

Okay gonna split. Hope everyone has a good evening.

LOL! My Ford Fusion lasted 25 miles...and then the TPMS came on. Stupid thing was on when I picked it up too and they just added air. 4 hours later it came on again and I had to take it back for a replacement vehicle. The Fusion has its pluses and minuses. Overall I didn't mind it. New rental is a 2013 Sonata. I like the body style but don't like the lack of equipment. When you're used to top o the line, plain jane cookie cutter cars really suck.

Sandy - wire cutters. Nuff said.

Mike - Yay! Glad to hear they liked their new food. That's a relief for you I'll bet.

Sandy, a hug from your friends here! hang in there. Allan, did you say The PMS light came on in the Ford? Now you you know why we refer to our cars in the feminine vernacular. .

Good one Dan! Naw, I can't blame the car for protecting me the way it should. Good thing it did that when it did because tomorrow I will be on a 450 mile road trip. BTW that Fusion must have had something seriously wrong or they didn't give me a full tank of fuel to start with. The gage needle was on F, but inside of 25 miles the needle had moved down to just over 3/4 tank! I almost stopped and checked for a hole in the fuel tank...

So far, I had to do a short road trip with the Sonata tonight - about 60 miles round trip (hiway) and the digital fuel gage never changed. It's one of those 'Eco' models. Not a lot of power, built for economy. I don't like it compared to the Ford or my old Sonata. It's also noisier. Oh well, mine will be out in about 10 days?

Morning all!

Clouds here this morning but the sun is supposed to come out this afternoon. Humid as heck still.

Thanks for the hugs. I need them! Dr. Rehmus office just called and I'm set up to go see a lung doc on Monday. I'm so tired. Nothing can be done for emphysema. Like all things it gets worse and can only be 'managed'. So I see more monthly prescriptions in my future. Cha ching.....!

I guarantee one thing.... soon as I'm over the surgery and future surgeries involved with this reconstruction, probably year after next, I'm heading to Arizona. I'm not going to live where I can't breathe in the humidity and the cold. I'll sell Teepo - hate to do it but I'll need money - and I'm out of here. If I live that long. Way I'm going I'm afraid to make any plans cause God just throws a wrench in them for some reason. There aren't the pollens and molds out there like we have here. I'm sure I could breathe much easier. Larry can stay here and watch old tapes of me on his cameras, lol. I'm sure there are car shows and cruise ins out there that I can go to and make new friends.

Mike.... yes Larry has 2 brothers in Iowa. Brother Richard is the one that saw the truck and told Larry about it. He trailered it to his house so that's where Larry will be going. And I'm sure he will show Richard his handy dandy security system he has at home! I plan on smiling at the breezeway camera as I'm covering it up. Thought about holding up a little sign saying "hi brother Richard" before I cover it. . ***!

Worked a little on Nicoles costume last night. Will stay home from the Hudson cruise tonight to work on it more. Nothing like working with fur material that sheds everywhere ...

Quiet day in here today. Except for Brian's stuff. Hes always swamped. He took his wife's Freestyle to the detail place by here yesterday and of course they didn't do it right so he took it back over this morning with a list of things they didn't do or didn't clean correctly.....

Speaking of that, I have to call Bob and get Tincanio over there to be detailed. I'm running out of time!

Well just wanted to check in. Sorry to be such a whiner and complainer about everything these days. Wish I could just go back to bi*ching about the weather.... huh Jamesbo? . And you thought that was bad lol. Love u guys... have a great day!

Hi everyone. Friday for me.

Come on Sandy let's load up. I want to go, too. I love Arizona. I was on the transfer list for Phoenix many years ago, long story short they said if you want to go you have to be there in two weeks, or you're fired. So I turned it down. A handful of cars and a geriatric dog and a house to sell was not the perfect scenario.

Allan safe travels. Yes I'm ecstatic that the dogs like their new food. Day two and there's no slowing down.

Beautiful day here. Sunny, not too humid. Saw it several times today, not my idea.

Saw a very old Lab on the internet that's by my house. Somehow he ended up in Animal Control and the people were pleading for someone to take him. Said he didn't have much time left and they wanted him to have peace, not be stuck in jail. I emailed about him but someone else had already gotten him. Just as well. My house wouldn't have been terrific for him, but I dare say it would be better than the pound. Bless his heart, I wonder how he ended up there.

Okay not much to report. We're over the hump. Hope everyone is well.

I'm back. Quick check in because there's an electrical storm brewing outside. Looks like it will get really nasty.

The 2013 Sonata rental is definitely not as comfy or refreshing to drive as my 07 Limited. Only thing going for the 13 is the styling and the Eco engine. I drove that sucker for 6 hours at 70-80 mph and it got me home just as the gas gage went to less than 1/2 tank. By quick calculations that's over 45 mpg. I was stunned. Other than that? I don't like it - too cramped, not enough side visibility and steering touchy enough to qualify for NASCAR.

Mike - YAY!!

Sandy - keep the vision of AZ in your mind - it's going to be a strong motivation for recovery.

Later, y'all.

That was one complaint that my buddy had on his wife's '14 Sonata hybrid, compromised visibility.

Good morning everyone.

Got home around 4 this morning. Now that's a good Friday. Slept a little bit and now headed to the Awful house. Nice out, maybe the rain will hold off like it did last weekend.

Glad you had a good trip, Allan. My feeling is rental cars are bad by design so when you get your own car back your more apt to overlook poor workmanship.

Okay time to head out. Hope everyone has a good day.

Thors Day!

Supposed two be nice one here today. I slept all night without waking once, but even after 8 hours, I'm still tired. Might have to nap later. Wow, that storm last night was like a tornado! Glad it didn't last long. It was bending the oak tree out front so much I moved the cars just to be safe.

Dan - Yeah, it seems like all the new cars with that raked back design have that problem. The Fusion did too.

Mike - No way I'd overlook workmanship issues on my car when it comes out of body shop. Rentals obviously serve their purpose but make me appreciate the choice I made buying my 07 all that much more. I guess one of the good things about rentals is I don't have to buy a new car to find out if I'll like it. I can swap out the rental for another model anytime I want. Don't want a smaller car or a Buick though.

Have a great day everyone.
