You are, of course, referring to that little punk Johann's "Toccata in D Minor" (a classic pipe organ piece).

There are much better versions of that piece out there. Dude is not respecting the work.

I think it was used for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, not Frankenstein. Frankenstein, also 1931, same year as Hyde, had its own theme.

My personal favorite for horror is Black Swan, of Swan Lake, of Tchaikovsky, used in Bella Lugosi's Dracula.

Hi everyone.

Was a record trip to Walmart this morning. Got in, got out, no drama.

Chris I know you like having your car in the show but don't you ever go just to be a spectator? You need to dump that Santa Fe while there is nothing wrong with it. You'll get more for it until some recall or known problem comes out and everyone else wants to dump theres.

I think we should all convene at Chris' house and find that noise once and for all. I think I've figured it out. He talks to himself while he drives and it's his head rattling

Beautiful afternoon. We are going to hang pictures because I've been promising that we'd do that. Don't have enough time to start something outside, and I won't be able to finish because it's going to rain all week.

Short week coming up. It's supposed to rain all weekend, but if it doesn't I might take Monday off and have a short week next week too.

Have a good day everyone.

Mike - Great job on the Walmart trip! Mine never turn out that way unless I'm by myself. Good luck hanging the pictures. Same scenario as Wlamart for me, no problem if I'm doing it myself without supervision, if I have supervision I may be at it all day.

The event I went to yesterday evening was just a cruise-in and not a judged show. To answer your question, now I wouldn't go without my car, I did once in awhile before I had my car. The way I look at it is, that the primary reason I got the car was to get it out and enjoy it, so I do. Also, I've found most car guys and spectators really enjoy seeing my car because you hardly ever see a '67 4-4-2 at any event around here. It's a win-win situation, folks really enjoy seeing it, and I enjoy talking to them about it. It's really nice when you have a make/model that's not a Chevelle, GTO, Mustang, or Camaro!

I could have gone to cars and coffee this AM. It was cold, and I need to see to the cars, but the event got shut down in Jan because of idiots. Now, the police extort five bucks a person to cover a cop or two patrolling. I don't like police, but I also don't like youthful ghetto trash, which is what was a large amount of the attendees. This resulted in vandalism and burnouts and wrecks and fights. Evansville is becoming trashy.

I've neither owned nor have I played a button accordion - I was trained on a keyboard accordion of which I've owned maybe a 1/2 dozen. There exists varieties of accordions. I've played Toccata in D Minor - it's a fun piece. It sounds very nice on a full concert accordion (as opposed to a concertina). This guy does an admirable job on the button accordion. In many respects, I developed a far greater appreciation of my parents having paid for accordion lessons. Took a lot of work to learn to read both bass & treble clef & even more concentration to play them both as an accompaniment to each other on the accordion. I recall discussions growing up my classmates/friends (I actually hated having to learn the accordion and carry it around everywhere) - I was the nerd of music. I learned to play piano then guitar - it was a rather easy transition in terms of the music & development. I envied friends who played trumpet & saxophone. Others would say why don't you learn a reed instrument, then? LMAO I would say to them I already know how to play a reed instrument - I play the accordion. To which, they had to stop to consider exactly what makes an accordion a reed instrument. I only ever played two string instruments - piano & guitar.

Sorry Norm, ya struck out.
Chris, as an example of ring wear, Stellantis demands that the ring sets that Mahle manufactures, use one quart every 15,000 miles. The Koreans got cheap, and rather than owe up to the fact that they lost the lawsuit, and are liable for these crappy engines, they are trying to put the blame on the customer for not using the right gasoline. Pure B.S.! The problem with that is, Joe average won't know any better, and will take in in the ****.

What a nice article Jamesbo. I've heard of Ann-Margaret but didn't know anything about her. Norm I'll watch your video when I have a moment and can have headphones on. Looks like I don't want to miss it.

Good morning everyone.

Since we haven't started work yet everything is quiet. Looks like we have a good start going though. Quiet start on a Monday, I'll take it.

Rain this afternoon. I hope I hear back about the pickup, like they're done with it and so sorry they didn't give it back to me Friday.

The lead is about to talk. He sort of sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher. Hope everyone has a good day.

Keith - Thanks for the buyer's guide, and I like the Nissan truck. I had a 1984 Nissan Super-cab 4x4 that I had for many years. I think it had over 250K-miles on it when I finally sold it privately. I had taken it on many hunting trips and beat the hell out of it off roading and couldn't make it quit running. Those older ones were known for wanting to rust in the beds and around the rear wheel wells though. If I could buy a modern one and get 250K-miles out of it I'd certainly consider one!

Good morning guys,

Well the b-day party was nice, at least as nice as it can be for a 1st b-day party. I was glad my wife got to spend some time with her brother and our granddaughters. The weather was great (sunny and 70°) so we were able to sit outside and be comfortable. BIL and his Hispanic(native) wife own a Mexican restaurant and they always have catered food from the restaurant when they throw a party, and it's really good. They also had libations for the adults. So sitting out in the beautiful weather with good food and a cold beer shooting the $hit, what's not to like!

Did find out my BIL is having another one of his cancer surgeries this Wednesday. I didn't want to ask him directly, and he didn't say specifically to me whether they were going to be working on the other Kidney or the Pancreas? Maybe my wife heard from his wife, or from him, but we didn't talk about that on the ride home, and I forgot to ask her after we got home. I'll bring it up later today.

Well, it was an early start this morning. Storms rolled in with some big boomers around 4am, and of course Monty had his usual freakout. I took him out to the living room with me so Momma and Maggie could get their beauty sleep. Even though Monty's definitely Momma's boy 99.9% of the time, he wants to be next to me when it's storming. Storms have moved out and he's snoozing now. Sun's supposed to come out soon and it's supposed to get close to 80° this afternoon. Sounds good to me!

Hope ya'll have a great day!

Holy **** Norm. I think this is the look I had on my face watching that video.

She doesn't look too bad at 81, either.

Today, and sadly it looks like the whole week, I have the penultimate bad wall guy. He's actually doing fairly well this morning. But after last week's boat anchor, anyone is an improvement.

Ann Margret was really cool. (She maybe still alive??) They had her on the Flintstones- Ann Margrock- of course. Chris just noticed the text I send you says "he might have left us" Sposta be " he might have lifters" . Geez how careful you have to be with voice recognition and texting....

Someone asked me once, how long does it take for food to pass through our digestive track. I honestly couldn't recall exactly. I looked it up. Found an Internet site which stated "..thirty nine hours..." This same "...thirty nine hours..." was stated on one or two more sites - in some WebMD or something site. It then dawned on me, some (most likely M.D.) person was using a Dictaphone voice recognition device to answer (forum?) questions. Think about it. Three to nine hours is the correct amount of time for food to traverse the digestive track. Sound like thirty nine?

Yeah, voice recognition needs to be checked/validated.

Update on BIL's cancer surgery this week.
My wife told me his surgery this week is to do another partial Kidney removal. His last surgery was to do a partial removal on the worst Kidney, and so far that has been successful. This surgery is on the other one, which had the smaller cancerous spot of the two. As for the spot on his Pancreas, they are monitoring it closely and it has shown very little to no change over the last couple months, which is great. They will address that after he fully recovers from this Kidney surgery. Tough road for sure, I really feel for him and his family. You don't have to look farther than the tip of your nose to find someone who has it much worse than you do!

Greg - Thanks for the clarification on the Ashley Jones text, much appreciated!

Norm when I was little the accepted knowledge was that it took 7 years for gum to go through your digestion if you swallowed it. We obviously believed that if we swallowed gum in Kindergarten it would be there until Jr. high school.

It must be my excellent robot guy who is pushing my wall guy to great things. I'm at 29 right now, headed towards 37. We might just make it. The target is 150 for the day. I don't know if that's because it's a short week or there's actually a need for that many. My guess is if we attain 150 every day, next week it will be 160. I think the last time 160 was called for there was a rebellion. I guess the lead never learns.

Being in the bunker I don't know for sure, but the computer has been telling me there's been heavy rain and thunder most of the morning. If we get big thunder we can hear it inside. I walked past the roll up door a little while ago and it had been raining but wasn't at that time.

This article agrees with around 39 as the average time.

Good evening guys,

Got out for about a 2-hour motorcycle ride this afternoon, it was sunny and 76°, perfect for riding with just a couple shirts and a leather vest. Man it sure felt good to be out on the bike! Didn't go real far, just some loops to nearby local small towns to the north, south, and west. Told my wife I may ride to Arkansas tomorrow to get ribs from Shorty's Rib Shack. It's supposed to be sunny, almost 0% chance of rain, and near 85° tomorrow. The only downside is I don't have my riding butt in shape yet, it would be an extremely long day at 360-miles round trip. Best ribs I've ever had though, I'm seriously considering it!

Hope everyone has had a great day!

Good morning everyone.

I thought I'd get my good wall guy back, but the penultimate bad guy shooed him away. You know what kills me is this guy would be awesome if he'd apply himself just a little.

Chris in the beginning I enjoyed taking off on my bike and just riding. I had a buddy I'd ride with sometimes and we'd just take off and ride the countryside. Not far from home, just a loop. I never was real good at riding. After I quit riding with my friend I'd sometimes ride to work. That was no fun just riding on the expressway. I've probably said this before, the bike was still perfect 4 years later and I was afraid to take it out. So I sold it. Haven't looked back.

Day 6 without my pickup. I know they don't work weekends. I'm getting tired of driving a wrecked car. Everyone has some comment about it. So here's a question. Should I get it fixed or do I trade it in its present condition. If what they'd give me plus what the insurance company sent me added up to what it's normally worth then great. Do you suppose it would work out that way?

Okay wheels. Gee, only an hour and a half since starting. Hope everyone has a good day.

Mike - I sure hope they get your pickup done soon! As for riding motorcycles on the highway, I try to avoid it like the plaque. Around here, if you're not going 80mph, the semi's will blow you off the highway.

Went to the mechanic after work. I said, I'm just checking up on my truck. He gave me a long story, it can only be done on the rack outside and it keeps raining, he's short handed, he just now got some part he was waiting on. Great. Just tell me when it will be done. He said tomorrow or Thursday. Probably.

It just must be me. I expect people to do what they say they will do. I expect things to get done when they are supposed to get done. I fall short of these expectations sometimes and when I do I get hammered by others, like I should. So why can't I hammer people when they are deficient?

Was cloudy and cool all day and now the sun is out and it's warmed up. Supposed to be 87 and sunny tomorrow. Holy cow.

Mike - Unfortunately, I seem to hear these types of stories from all my friends who have to take their cars in to be worked on. It's either untimely, or incompetent repairs, or both!. This is why I feel lucky my friend's shop that I've been using for over 30-years is close by, and he's usually timely and always has stood behind his work. This doesn't mean it has always been right the first time, but he always makes it right. He's not the cheapest game in town, but not nearly as expensive as service from a dealer either, and overall by far he is worth what he charges

Good evening guys,

Discretion was the better part of valor today. When I heard there was a good chance of severe weather firing up from central Arkansas all the way to St. Louis, it didn't take long for me to decide I wasn't going to Shorty's Rib Shack on the motorcycle today. I'd be riding the whole way in the alley targeted for severe weather..

I'm pooped. I did my heavy cardio workout earlier than usual this morning, and then I took a short break and went out to mow and trim. Anymore on days that I decide to do both, it's all the fun I can stand.

Believe it or not, I've got the A\C on in the house right now. I'm not sure how warm it got today, but I'm sure it was at least in the low 80's. It got up to 78° in the house a short while ago and it's also very humid, downright uncomfortable, so I broke down and turned the A/C on.

Hope ya'll had a great day!

I was fortunate to have a reliable mechanic for 40 years before he retired. He was always fair in price, and did good work. I had a '98 Lumina that developed a pronounced ticking when I left from work one day. I crept along the shoulder of the road at 35mph for 18 miles until i got to his garage at 4pm on a Friday. I mentioned that I was working on Sunday, but would probably have to call in. He called me at 5pm, and told me it was done! I walked down to pick it up (about a mile), and he told me that the tip of a pushrod had broken off (the ball tip). He diagnosed it, fished it out and replaced it in an hour! My only regret is that I didn't find out that he had closed up shop before I could stop in and talk to him. He lives in town, and I hope to run into him just to shake his hand.

I had a GEAT mechanic like that [in the country] worked out of a block building 50 yards from his house with dogs cats, and chickens, Never thru away a part he removed EVER Just tossed them in a pile of rotors, wires, what ever. He passed away several years ago .They found him on his tractor still running against a tree [heart attack] Honest as the day is long, Gave you a ride home when you took your car to his shop ,came and picked you up when it was ready. His helper put a new door lock in the drivers side door and the key didn't match . To this day I have to unlock the passenger side to get in my truck and I just smile and remember my dear friend

Good morning guys,

Been out on the couch with Monty since 4am when a strong front came through and of course sent him into a tizzy. He's calmed down now and is sleeping next to me, I may recline the couch and try to get a few more ZZ's myself here in a minute. Another strong front will be arriving around 8am and we'll be going through this again, Ugh! At least it's quick moving and then we should be fine the rest of the day.

Hope most of you miss the severe weather that's moving across again,, and have the best day you possibly can!

Wow, thunder and lightning sumptin' fierce last night. Luckily Buddy doesn't care much. He growled at the lightning but the booming he didn't even flinch. Sure sounds like Monte won't get over it... Got a bunch of springtime stuff done the day before yesterday. Put snowmobiles back on trailer- mothballed, etc, Took plow back off truck, etc. Yesterday I attempted to repair pressure washer, I did get it back together but couldn't get unloader valve out- which I think is the problem, I think the aluminum housing is wallarrerd out. A shame as the engine still runs great. I planned to get out Olds for a test drive after the brake work, but didn't get to it. After all this rain I will get it out as the salt should be washed off the roads now.
