Yep, they're certainly moving out, taking good advantage before the next round of monsoons come. Since you're the concrete expert, I'll ask this question. It's supposed to get down to 20° F for lows the next 3 nights, and daily highs in the mid to upper 30's. Will that scenario damage the concrete???
I'll get right on setting up that time lapse video for ya'll!

Chris - Honestly, that is IMO a terrible time to pour concrete. We'd never pour concrete at those temperatures in the past. You can read it for yourself.
Had to zig zag my way to the mountains. Stopped at John deere for hitch and 3 casa de pot before found the spreader, aerification pull behind thing I wanted. Lost a wiper in the rain. But it should be clear for return trip
Thanks, it was delicious. I grabbed a 1/2 dozen fresh cookies when I was at the store ~1PM. Time for a cup of coffee and heat the cookies in the oven several minutes. Living the life, baby.

Saw the cookies in a later post, they look good. I'm out getting Chinese takeout right now. Wife is getting Beef and Broccoli, and I am getting 2 orders of Chicken with Garlic Sauce Extra Spicy, which means it will have a $hit ton of those Chinese Red Peppers in it.
Jim - Looks good. Feta stuffed chicken is delicious. Not a huge fan of okra except in Jambalaya. Isn't it odd field peas (Southern cowpeas) are called peas when in fact they're beans?

Norm, I don't understand.boiled okra is Boiled okra.. I do also love it fried. A while back a friend of mine had the idea to sell fried okra in movies like popcorn never got off the ground
Wifey and I went bar hopping yesterday for St Patty's. She wanted to do it which is quite unusual for her anymore. It was fun, we went down to Clare- started at the Dougherty Hotel which is a known Irish place- It was packed! Then walked to 2 other places in Clare, then back to Harrison Moose Lodge then "Reds" or Long Lake Bar- our neighborhood hangout. Wow, just found out that Kil Kare Dragstrip is having a Southeast Gassers event the same weekend as the Nats. It's only about 13 miles from host hotel ! I think we'll go see it- I love the old gassers!!
Spending the better part of what is essentially a 3 day weekend due to night trials at work at home. I had inadvertently unplugged some wrong cables on the stereo and taken out the rear system's connection. I eliminated some stuff, and used better quality cables, and it sounds better. This thing is not done, but I need more shelves before I wire it more permanently.
I've been playing with a little switchbox called a DBX 200. This thing sits in a tape loop and gives you the ability to have 3 processors, 3 sources, and a noise reducer rig in it. One switch was acting up badly, so I disassembled it, and, after robbing parts from another item of the same brand, fixed it. Reassembly is being a bitch, I had to stop and order hemostats; I need something to hold the spring compressed and the switch push rod solid so I can put a spring retention clip on with both hands wielding needlenose pliers, then release spring once its on.
A tasty selection that you have there Kenneth. Chris, the weather goes from I can't see because the sun is in my eyes, to I can't see due to blowing, heavy snow. Spring is Monday, and we will see about a 15° increase in temps.

Dan - Overnight lows here of 20° the next two nights, then projected low 70's mid-week, we are on the Missouri extreme roller coaster of temps as we transition from one season to another.
John - I've owned several various Lexicon MX Series dBx processors over the years and used them for various applications. I recall when I purchased my first 'real' sound board. The evolution of sound processing is amazing - considering my first fore into sound mixing/processing was slap-back, reverb & echo with old reel-to-reel units back in the 60s - strictly for guitar playing (maybe sometimes an electric keyboard). My how times changed. As I continued playing guitar I then became a tape trader - collecting/trading soundboard tapes from various live band concerts. At one point as an undergrad I owned two Nakamichi tape decks (one dual, one single), a couple guitars, a couple amplifiers, of course record platters, etc. As you likely know, many guitarists employ some type of sound processor. I initially bought a couple off-brand units until I settled in on Lexicon MX Series processors. I'd hate to even think about diving into the innards of a modern-day dBx unit; heck, the last one I owned could store up to 50 different effects loops. What they cost today is pennies on the dollar for what they can do - it's crazy.
Beautiful day here, not too warm but it was nice out in the sun.
Spent most of the day working on the white DUKW. I wanted to get a new switch wired in so I started by trying to take off the metal panel the switch lives in. I buggered a couple of the screws so I asked my friend down the street, the hot rod guy, if he had any tools of mass destruction to get these screws out. He said he had to see what I was working on. So he came down and he started poking and prodding and got the switch replaced, but it wouldn't start. So we got under the hood and filed the points and gave it a little gas down the carb, and it started right up. Let it warm up, tweaked the timing, and got it to move several feet. It doesn't have any brakes so we couldn't go crazy. But it runs and it moves and I'm thrilled.
Tomorrow is going to be nice, but it's Walmart day and Mom always seems to make it take up the whole day. If it's nice during the week I can do something on the installment plan.
Well I'm beat. My friend really did most of the work on the truck, but I was the heyboy, and I made about 50 trips up and down the ladder, and crawling around the truck is challenging for a normal person, but let that person have a bum leg and it's downright suckful.

Mike - Nice of your friend to help you out to get it running. Why you want to go to Walmart on a Sunday remains a mystery to me.
My several areas of newly seeded grass is getting excellent watering - some I contribute, but we've had some exceptionally very nice very, very slow rain the past week w/ no more than 0.02"/hr for 4'-6' each. Unfortunately, the temperatures have come down during the day and night and germination doesn't do well below 60°F. Keeping fingers crossed.
