Chris, bear in mind that you would have a case for diminished value of property by obstructed view, if so.
Ya, you're right, but nothing I can really do about it, and like I like I said, unless they built a 2-story, I think our view would still be unobstructed. The back of our house essentially faces North, and right now looking off the back of our deck, there are houses to the East and the West, and we can still see sunrises and sunsets in both directions over the tops of the houses. It would only be the view in the Northerly direction that would be affected, even if they built a 2-story.
I fared better, with a doe wandering around at 11:30pm. Pic taken with the phone is too crappy to bother posting. Went to bed at midnight, and had three of them curled up in the front yard for some Zzzz's.

Dan - That's cool! That's another thing we would miss if they built on those empty Lots behind us. The deer come from those heavy woods in the distance in the pic almost every night to graze in the open Lots.
OK, going to give a shot at posting a spreadsheet of my 2023 Car Shows and Cruise-ins database to date. It is far from finished because many events that occurred last summer out in the later months have not been confirmed for this year yet. Just thought you might want to check it out to get a comprehensive idea of what the St. Louis and surrounding area car scene is like. I generally as a rule do not include any events that are more than 75-miles away in one direction.
Interpreting the 2023 Spreadsheet (1st 3-pages of spreadsheet)
1. If there is "red fill" in the first Column it means any particular event has been confirmed for 2023. Those events listed without "red fill" in the 1st Column are events that occurred in 2022 and I have left them for now, still waiting to see if they are confirmed at a later date.
2. Any event with "colored fill" in the Row is a reoccurring monthly cruise-in and you will see that event repeated in the various months. The one exception to that is the "Sonic Cruise-in" listed at the very top of the spreadsheet which occurs every Friday, and I didn't want to have to repeat it several times each month.
3. Any event with "no colored fill" in the Row is a one time only Judged Show.
Interpreting the 2022 Spreadsheet (2 set of 3-pages after the 2023 entries)
1. Essentially the same set-up as the 2023 sheets. You will notice numbers in the first Column, 1-34, which indicate the events in sequential order that I attended last year. If the number is followed by a 2nd number in parentheses, that number indicates Judged Shows I attended and if also marked by an asterisk means I placed in any given Show.
Well, here it goes, we'll see if the Spreadsheet comes through. Let me know if you have any questions or comments?
Thanks John! It comes in handy when trying to prioritize what I would like to attend on any given weekend. However it does take some time to put together because it involves constantly perusing 6 different sites to see what new events have been posted.
Beautiful day today, and I got squat done. Big surprise. Got up early for the Awful house, then went to my airport and stayed all morning. Then did laundry and was quite perturbed when the dryer gave up still wet clothing. Seems I forgot to switch back from air fluff(no heat) the last time. Wired a new plug onto my tow dolly, but by the time I finished it was too late to try to retrieve the Suburban so I went to Mom's for meatloaf.
Chris I want that digger. Do they leave the keys in it at night?
Tomorrow is supposed to rain. Then arctic cold. Well, still technically winter. I hope I can get something done besides Walmart.
Hope everyone has a good evening. Don't forget to set your clocks up.
Those 4 Lots are not very desirable because they sit in a trough between high ground on both sides and every home that has been built in that trough has had water issues. The water issues get worse as you move down the hill (right of the excavator), so we're always hoping no one ever buys the 2 Lots directly behind our place.
That’s kinda similar to the Lower 9th Ward in N’Awlinz that totally flooded during Hurricane Katrina. That area was the last to get developed for a reason, just like those lots your neighborhood.
Kenneth, I have noticed that. The north side of Evansville is creeping forward, and the smallest, oldest houses on the roads are on the best heights. Newer houses are in the low spots and have a lot of ditches.

Mike, I didn't do much today either. I have to support second shift the next two weeks, so I am staying up late and sleeping in. Trying to fix a Pink Floyd LP with my record press. Also working on the H/OCA newsletter; should send it to the proofers Monday. I looked at a Journey With Olds issue today; it's a nice magazine. It's 2.5 times the size of Thunder & Lightning with at least double everything, adds, reference material, fluff, articles, etc, and it's monthly. Their editor is a professional though; I'm just a volunteer.
Ok, this thing is an Orb Record Flattener, and it's the slightly more expanded model that will do an extra function.
The idea is it is a heavy hot plate, and you put the record in there, and it pushes it flat, and holds it there while it gradually heats it up over a 2 hour period, then lets it cool over another 2 hours. It can do high, medium, or low heat cycles, and can do 7, 10, and 12 inch records.
The expanded function is it has no geometry for the ridges, so you can use inserts for ridgeless records. By ridge, I mean groove guard. Very old records and very new, thick records, have no ridge ring to protect the grooves, but most records are thicker at the rim, and at the label, than at the grooves,
and that is how this thing works without killing the grooves, it applies heat through the label, and through the grooveguard. If you have no grooveguard, you can use adapters to sit the record in that are cut in relief to provide that gap for the grooves.
Hi guys, well, it's jump ahead time- surprised we still do this- every year they talk about how no one likes it- oh well. This week I plan to get my neighbor as a pedal pumper and bleed brakes on the Olds after replacing hoses and ft calipers. He owes me a favor after watching his house while they went to Florida and a cruise. Beautiful day yesterday- snow melting fast. John, that is interesting about the record flattener. I have no vinyl albums, or 8 tracks, or cassettes- I still have some CD's but about 50% of those skip... I still like to hear LP's played as they were intended though. In order. I was at a party a while back where the guy was playing music from alexa or something and after song was 3/4 played they would switch to another they just thought of.... irritating....
My youngest brother & wife sent me a picture of our family hand-me-down 'Dago' (Italian recipe) sausage they finished stuffing into natural casings this morning. Needs to hang/cure ~14 days. Delicious sausage.

Not sure. We were tied 1st at -13. Another group was on the course at -14 w/ two more holes to play. I didn't feel like waiting around - any winnings gets posted to the pro shop as a credit voucher to my account so I bailed.
EDIT: There were payouts for the top five teams...I may have broke even....entry fee was $85 but the dinner Friday night was excellent & our team had a great time playing.

That's great, sounds like you guy's played very well and had fun! 👍
I always have fun. On a bad golf day, you won't find me either throwing clubs, vulgarity, whining, bitching or moaning. I think it was Sam Snead during a ProAm tournament watching an amateur golfer he was playing with cussing, swearing and throwing his clubs about. Sam came up to him, looked him in the eye and said "Seriously/Really? You aren't good enough to be behaving like that".

I agree 100%! There really are no "bad days" when you're out doing a hobby!
Well, I saw the back half of the Miata peaking out of a snow bank for the first time in almost a month. So far no dents or smashed top bows, cant see the hood and I worry about it, it is aluminum and fragile, but I may have skated out of trouble this time. Not so lucky with the pump house as it appears to have lost its roof a neighbor has informed me, I'll check it out tomorrow, maybe some more of the snow will melt and I can get around a little easier. Come on spring!
As a final note the Almond crop looks to be a bust as the cold wet weather hasn't allowed the honey bees to pollinate any blossoms, some years you can't win for losing, but that is farming....Tedd
Hope everything gets better there soon, Tedd. Wow what a mess. Yesterday a friend and I bled the brakes on Cutlass. Didn't start car but brakes seem to bleed fine. I put my lousily painted wheels back together and back on car and let car back to floor. When snow is gone I'll take for test drive. I got some pics of work being done on the truck. I tried to get them off his text and put them on here but couldn't. I'll try again later. I am so glad to see he has started on it. I am so glad I am having him paint it after the paint fiasco with the Olds wheels. I will not attempt car painting again- except for spray can small jobs, etc. Take care, guys....
Jim - Thanks. 👍👍👍
Tedd - When it rains it pours, eh? And, looks like 72 hours of rain up next followed by I'd think some significant flooding. Argh.
Greg - Looking forward to pictures of 'Meadow Green'
John - Nice ORB
Mike - Where's the 'wall guy' morning report?
Lost a tooth filling Saturday evening. Call to dentist this morning. Time really flew by yesterday.
Easy start to the day. We are moving along smoothly. I appreciate that.
Got my preferred wall guy today. He's less than half my age but if he were any older I'd want to hang out with him. Easy to carry on an intelligent conversation with him, but fun to cut up a little. And he does good work. And he's reliable.
Jamesbo that looks like taco salad with cornbread instead of taco shells.
Ah the dentist. I haven't been in, a while. I'm taking Mom to the dentist after work today. I get the heebie geebies just driving up to the building. Norm it was only an hour. Last fall when time changed there was a bunch of people took to the internet saying the time change ruins their life. Geez, that's why they do it in the middle of the night, so you don't notice.
Tedd I hope the Miata's top is tight, so all that snow doesn't leak inside when it melts. You're a better man than I putting up with all that. Please have a little patience with the dog. She is uneasy because your SIL is gone and things are still new to her.
John how warped does a record have to be to warrant being put on the flattener?
Not sure it's going to be cold enough to be poking around under the dash of the DUKW, but I need to get that switch replaced. I'll just heavily arm myself with wasp spray and get to it. Things won't get any cooler after this I believe, so I might as well get it done. Plus I need to move it and it's too heavy to push.
Oh I forgot, I was going to have blue flu today. Rats. Maybe next Monday. This is the week I'd be going to Australia. Hate that I'm missing it.
Jim - That looks great to me, ingredients are all things that I like! On the same web page I also saw a link to this recipe, Maple Bacon French Toast Bake! Now I could really get onboard with that, I'm a Baconholic! https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/...ch-toast-bake/
Chris, I'm with you bacon tase good on everything Unfortunately, I gave up pork for lent. I wish you had seen me today trying to eat a Cobb salad and not eating the bacon
Norm It was. At the time I tried it [just because I had never heard of it]. The lady who owned the general store and diner would squeeze a Nickle until the Indian rode the buffalo. I [ not to her face] thought she just had some left over corn bread and didn't want to toss it. The newer recipes sound much better Stay tuned until easter, Ill report back
