Chris - The first thing to do is run "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) from a MS-DOS COMMAND PROMPT, PowerShell or Windows Terminal (Admin) depending on OS version. This will ensure your OS registry hives are not corrupt and if corrupt sfc (System File Checker) will fix any corrupt files. It will take ~5' to run - let it run until complete.

Well, I'm a donor pet owner, I guess. Someone dropped off 4 kittens at my place in the middle of the night. I just saw something run for the garage and thought it was a rat or small critter, but in the morning I found the 4 starving kittens, no momma to be found.

I do not need any more cats, one is enough, but my daughter has a hart as big as all outdoors, and she will take them and foster them till she can find homes for them, or they become members of her family. Missed a bullet on that one, literally and figuratively, on the ranch, sad to say they would have already been disposed of. Why do people dump their unwanted pets on someone else. Really pisses me off. Tedd

I come from a long lineage of dairy cattle farmers. I'd hate to tell you what my uncles did with unwanted felines.

Greg - Honestly, I did not know they put them on nationwide. I thought it was local. The one we went to had a ton of women participating, with large groups starting on the course every 20-minutes from 10am - 1pm. Pretty neat your niece participated in one too!

I watched this last night - just released - excellent (Netflix).
https://www.netflix.com/title/81629046
Narrated by Jeff Bridges. Full set: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall

Y'all remember Jeff I know, Lloyd's son (Mike Nelson) in Sea Hunt (produced by Gene Roddenberry). Fact is, Lloyd was offered the role of Captain Kirk. I was a big fan of Lloyd Bridges.

Anyways, Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall is excellent.

Norm - I thought I knew that song, but didn't know who Chris Wall was or that he wrote it. I remember the versions done by Jerry Jeff Walker and Confederate Railroad. Nice pic!

Norm - Sea Hunt was one of my favorite shows as a kid, just loved it! I've got to watch the CCR concert, they're easily in my top 5 favorite bands all time. And, I can sing a mean "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" karaoke!

Holy Toledo I'm whipped. My phone says I walked 7 miles today. Walked to the museum in the rain, lifted heavy things all day, went to our warehouse and moved a bunch of cabinets, and got half way back to the hotel and a major wind came up that froze me to the core. It actually turned out to be a nice day, don't know where the wind came from.

Norm some guys that came to visit the museum today who were pilots said that guy took a turn too sharp and he passed out.

I'm gonna hit the sack. Well, I'm gonna look at the internet then I'm gonna hit the sack. It actually feels like 10 oclock to me(like it is at home) instead of 7. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Jet lag is a bummer, Mike.

So I warped my thermostat housing, or it got warped, on the Chevy. Took it to work and took the industrial belt sander to it. Got it 90% flatter. I put it in with my usual "put lubed fasteners in to torque and no more" method, figuring the 25% friction reduction would be counted up by the built in range. 30 ft lbs on the wrench.

I'll put coolant in in the morning and see if it leaks before further assembly.

Good morning guys,

John - Good luck with the thermostat housing, hope you can get it to seal properly.

Meant to post this pic of the temp yesterday, and forgot after I received the proposed settlement for my roof/gutters/fascia from the insurance adjuster, which is a different story.

Temp topped out at about 97° F in the shade yesterday, with more of the same forecast for today and tomorrow. Way too hot for this time of year here. Projected high for Thursday is only 70° F.

Well, the insurance adjusters quote for a new roof, gutters, and fascia is about $350 less than my contractor's proposal. I guess that isn't too bad, but I really don't want to pay any more than my $1.5K deductible if I don't have to, so I sent the adjusters proposed settlement to my contractor for him to review and hopefully find where there might be any disconnects.

Hope everyone has a great day!

My head is definitely not into the game of golf right now. The past two weeks have been atrocious. Today I drove two hours & played a gorgeous course only to have played like a fish out of water. I think I'm going to take some time off from golf and simply work around the Ponderosa.

Good evening guys,

Busy day. Hotter than Hades!

102° F in the Frickin shade, thats got to break an all time record for today.

Was on the phone with my roofing contractor this morning after he had reviewed the proposed settlement. The disconnect is the insurance company was not including linear footage of gutters/downspouts/fascia on the backside and one side of house that were not impacted by the hail. I can understand that, but I'm not going to just replace the front and one side, and leave the others so they don't all match and look fresh. I'll pay the extra $350 just for them to all be new. After that discussion, I took the insurance company's 1st check to the Post Office to have it sent Priority Mail (with tracking) to my Mortgage Company to have it endorsed and then sent back to me so I can endorse and deposit it. There will be a 2nd check on the backend for "recoverable depreciation" after proof that the work was done. Basically, I'll get an all new roof with 40-yr architectural shingles and new gutters/fascia/downspouts for $1.8K out-of-pocket, not a bad deal I think.

Went out to mow at 0900 and the dew was not even all burned off yet. It was already 93° when I was putting the equipment away at 1045. Doubled up again and did my cardio workout this afternoon after I had some time to rehydrate. Then I went to get burgers and fries for dinner from our favorite local greasy spoon. I should sleep like a log tonight!

I've got some more really good pics of the Mud Run that Dawn pulled off the Organizer's website I'll post later. I'd do it now, but I haven't downloaded them yet.

Hope ya'll had a great day and have a relaxing evening.

Norm - I just finished watching this. You were right, absolutely excellent! It absolutely amazes me how they sound live is so much like their recordings. Their music is so simplistic, but Fogerty's voice is the hook for me. Thanks for mentioning it was out there on Netflix!

Hi everyone.

I'm done. Did I say yesterday that I was whipped? Well today I'm done. Did some good work on the 1910 Franklin today. The roof leaks and it was close to some dripping so I got all the water spots off and then dug the old wax out of the horn conduit. Doesn't look terrific but it does look better. Another successful trip to volunteer at the museum.

Up before the chickens tomorrow so I can get to the airport for the first flight out. I don't really need to get home in the afternoon since Tiger isn't in jail, but connecting through Salt Lake City is a disaster. I need all the chances I can get to get out.

This isn't jetlag, John, it's being out of shape and not used to working.

Okay I think I'll hang out in a hot shower for a little while, and then hit the sack. See everyone back at my home 20 tomorrow.

Good morning guys,

I mentioned yesterday that my wife found some more pics of the Mud Run on the Organizers website that were taken by the Organizer's photographers who were allowed out on the course and positioned at various obstacles.

T.S. Nora is dissipating and bringing lots of moisture into the desert Southwest. We have overcast cloud cover that has dropped the temps into the mid-high 90s. WooHoo!! But it’s transient then back to the same old same old.
Triple digit temperatures for the beginning of fall.

Kenneth - Get your car out and enjoy it for a couple days, or are the low 90's still too hot? Hot again (for here) today, mid-90's, then a cool front comes in on Thursday. Projected high on Thursday is 68° and on Friday 64° F, pretty big swing!

It's not the temperature but the rain. Was dry at home, soaking wet at work. I have no desire to drive the Cutlass in the rain when I have a Jeep.

Kenneth - Here's the chart containing available rear differential options. In the table at the top of the page, go down the left side to the Cutlass Supreme area, top row under Cutlass Supreme is for the 400ci Rocket motor, follow it to the right side of the table to the available rear end options and you'll see a 3.55 was available as Option G93.

Yes, but the 3.55:1 ratio was never available on the O-Type, only on the 8.2" 10 bolt and Chevy 12 bolt rears.
