Norm - All good ideas that don't take up much space. Already have the zip ties in there that I failed to mention, plus a bag of assorted hose clamps to fit all the sizes of fuel and coolant hoses under the hood, and a fresh fuel filter if the current one should get clogged. Never thought of a spare thermostat, I think it has a 160° in it, I'll need to double check, I have the paperwork for the last one that was put in it.
Small tube of Permatex Gasket Sealant, replacement thermostat & a small roll of baling wire.
Work was good, we finished up and were gone by 11, and I went to the Awful house for a couple hours. Beautiful day out but not Kenneth hot.
Norm I would love, love to have one of those Blazers. Same military body/interior/motor as the 5/4 pickup, but has 3.42 gears so it's okay for the highway. And with that big whip antenna on the side it's cool as hell.
James - Here's the deal w/ butter. I keep my butter in a glass container at room temperature - which is 79°F daytime 75°F nighttime. I use ~x1 stick butter every week, or thereabouts. It never goes rancid. I like butter in a state of modest creamery texture. I was surprised how many people don't realize you can freeze butter (and cheese) almost indefinitely. I keep several pounds of butter in the freezer, one opened (container) pound (x4 sticks) in the refrigerator - well, depending on which butter I purchase. I often buy the Irish cream butter or the special Sea Salt butter.
Jim - BTW, when I'm working on ANYTHING which requires tools I'm almost OCD when it comes to tools. I know where every tool is stationed, supposed to reside. When I'm done w/ it, I put it back in the exact same spot - not a different spot, not later on, not laying around, etc. I put it back when I'm done with it. Now, there certainly are times when I know I'm going to need the same tools for the entire amount of work required for the day, but I'm "one-of-those" who relentlessly puts my tools back at the end of every day.
Jim, I have a couple of Kodak bellows camera's from the 1920's....ya ain't that old! Chris, is the tape measure for seeing how far you get on a gallon of gas? Norm, I had a Sigma lens on my first 35mm camera (that was stolen in a break-in), I had no issues with it.
Ok, I have a Leika some poor German lost during WW II and it still works. [I never use]
My dad was in the business and had a Model 70 movie camera. I have reels and reels of film he took I've haven seen in 40 years and never converted to a modern format. I don't believe anyone is ever going to be interested in Christmas 1952
Back when the ark was drying out, The schools rented the projectors and films from my dad. Many a time a teacher would call him at home and I'd go to school with a protector bulb or a spring for the projectors. funniest thing is I was never allowed to thread the projector and show the movie. I was only the "parts guy"

Mike - I think you may have meant to refer to Jim in your response - maybe I did mention a blazer somewhere far earlier. Speaking of which. I used to beat a 1971 K5 Blazer to death up North in the winter clearing snow from a couple of automobile car lots with a K5 mounted with a big snow blade back in the early 1970s. Both dealerships were Chevrolet dealerships (Elgin, IL).
I had a Leika for some time - my Dad inherited it from a friend of his who passed on. You had to look "down" into the framing window when you ran it. My folks loved taking movies - the 8mm & 16 mm type. They found my sachet of stag movies when I invited some friends over to watch some stag movies thinking my parents were going to be gone the entire evening - parents sometimes get in the way of a good time.
My apologies Chris, my mind told me, some time after seeing the picture, that it was Norm who posted the picture. I came close to buying a couple of them, but they were being sold by people who didn't understand or appreciate them and they were pretty beat. Missed out on one that was an original and un-adulterated by just a couple hours.
Cookies don't last around my house long enough to be stacked.
The brother of one my buddies has a vintage Rolleiflex Dual lens camera, I would love to check it out. I think that it would be interesting to learn how to use.

I'm the same way, with about anything. Definitely strong tendency towards OCD. When I was still working, I was the historian in my Office. If anyone wanted a record of how something occurred or decided upon years ago, they came to me to get the answer because they knew I'd have it stored and would be able to find it. Not bragging, but my documentation and organizational skills were legendary.
Norm, Speaking of tools [kitchen] do you have and Ulu?
Jim - No I do not. Do you have one? If so, you like it? What size do you have if you own one? I've seen them on a couple of T.V. shows of people using them to cut meat while field dressing & other such activities. You think they're worth it?
I have the "regular size" 3./4 " blade I bought it in Alaska I' don't use it to cut meat [or my fingers] What I like it for is mincing anything especially parsley
BTW Do you know the difference betwix parsley and pu$$y?
Amazon has some pretty inexpensive. Mine is VERY sharp

Hmmm....I most likely think I know several differences; but, enlighten me.
Ha, ha. I make one of the absolute best Tabbouleh you've ever eaten - to die for. But, instead of onion (which just itself sounds terrible in Tabbouleh) I use garlic - in fact, I pound it w/ garlic.
Kenneth - Pretty good idea on the tow rope, and I have one. Got towing on my Classic Car policy though, I'd rather have someone come and put it up on a rig before risking towing it any great distance. Might still be a good thing to have if you were broke down on a main road just to get it out of the way.
That’s what I was meaning - the ability to tow it a short distance out of traffic to a safer spot. I’ve needed to do that quite a few times, but never needed a tow truck. I typically do roadside repairs then continue on my way. Like the time going to work the engine quit. I coasted to the roadside, did some troubleshooting, determined the carb was flooding, took the air horn off the carb, found a fleck of something on the needle valve, cleaned it, reassembled the carb, and made it to work on time. Well, before my boss anyway.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, yet; but since I upgraded my iPhone to 15.6.1 two days ago, the CO “mobile” EUI (End User Interface) on Safari no longer provides the top (of web page) breadcrumbs application menu. There were MANY security updates to this version including a new (default) private WiFi IP Address schema and several others to prevent known email trackers and other trackers from obtaining the iPhone IP address. I’m pretty sure one of the security upgrades is now interfering with the full CO mobile app.
Then yesterday a IB staff member (robb) posted this:
It's now making more sense and leaning towards not being an Apple iPhone s/w version update but instead related to this Mobile Dark Mode *Beta* (supposed) feature. I noted on his post he stated:
Please log in from your mobile, turn the dark mode on using the Hamburger menu and let us know your feedback in this thread.
I think however IB elected to move this Mobile Dark Mode *Beta* into the Hamburger menu is causing the other web page ribbon Breadcrumbs (element extensions) to become askew.
I'm not sure it's going to gain much favor based upon a couple comments (thus far):
I don't understand why IB is testing & considering adding a Dark Mode (supposed) feature to the CO website when using a mobile device. An End-User has always had the ability to put their mobile device into Dark Mode either on an iPhone, an Android or other numerous mobile devices (e.g. laptop, tablet, etc.).
Been a bunch different at my place lately. Had to call 911 on my (i'm going to call her my roommate) as she no longer could walk or get off the pot, really has deteriorated health issues, but did not want to go to the hospital for help. Did you know that the fire dept rescue unit can't take you to the hospital if you state "I don't want to go". Even though you are helpless and perhaps confused. I resolved the issue by calling my daughter (who is a nurse) and her and my Grand daughter (who is a syllogist) managed to load her up, which was a major job, the lady is not small, and made a rescue. Thank you daughter and granddaughter. This issue has gotten way over my ability to be any help. I'll call shortly and see how things went last night..... Tedd

From a sunflower farm about 30 miles north of me. They sell to local processors.
Well, it's 9:05 EDT and the original image you posted of the sunflower farm/field is no longer contained in your post. The image has been gone for at least the past 30 minutes. This is the third instance I've heard others post about images disappearing. It happened the other day (early in the day) while I was viewing another thread. Something is amuck I suspect.
Went to an auction, estate auction coming home with a good amount. Was surprised it went cheap.Bought a 1970s Mac Toolbox top and bottom full of tools,no cheap junk.A Snap On top and bottom too from the 1980s as well full of tools with no cheap junk too.Did good, taking 4 of the Snap On ratchets to work with me,have a cool dealer that warranties tools on the spot. All need a kit, sound bad inside and he does stock the ratchet repair kits very well.A guy there offered me to sell the Snap On to him, told him no
I have about eight wild turkeys in the front yard as I type, part of the fun of living in the boondocks is all the wild life that you are around, except bears and lions.
I keep my tools in the gun shop pretty organized, but for some reason my auto tools get messed up and moved around and hide to where I'm looking for some tool all the time. Lucky, I have three of most everything, but frustrating, somehow I don't think I'm the only one.
Ruby is in ICU and probably will make it., time will tell on this, whole body infection. Decisions will have to be made down the road as far as her residence goes. If she makes it, Grand Daughter tested positive on the Covid yesterday, we were all at the same birthday party together earlier this week. The Old Man has a cough, but I tested him last night, and he tested negative, so we dodged the bullet on that so far. My plate is full, having a hard time getting on top of things, where is the simple life I remember.... Tedd
My son knowing he has to get up early tomorrow morning,1st day back to school.A junior in high school this year.Good thing is he does get up without me waking him up.Plus he knows the girls will get to him, love his long hair touching it.He drives,a good driver
Just got in from mowing. Whew, 90° and very steamy. Glad I got done when I did, it will be worse later, even later in the evening.
Went to the Benefit Car Show for Cystic Fibrosis yesterday. Nice venue and very well run. Plenty of shade and good food to be had. If you would like to see some pics of the nicer cars you can check them out at the following link: https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...7/#post1449458
