Never Forget

Definitely a day that I will never forget.
It’s a day we all lost something. I’m angry my kids don’t know what life was life before that day.
A little bit of innocence for all of us died that day.

I remember listening to it unfold as I drove in to work at the base, then trying to get updates throughout the day. Business had to go on, we were running leadership course, had no idea what it would mean for us that day or week, but knew that our role would be much different in the weeks to come.

I was notified by an application that I use to know when to lower the national ensign that today is to be known as Patriot Day and all flags shall be lowered from sunrise to sunset.

I had a nephew born on that day. His mother was at the doctor's office when his heartbeat stopped while he was still inside the womb. Fortunately, the doctor's office was across the street from the hospital, and they rushed her over for an emergency C-Section. He was touch and go for several days but celebrates his 22nd birthday today. My office closed early and I went directly to the hospital. I remember it very well.

I will definitely never forget. What a tragic terrible day in America. Peace to All that were impacted by the things that happened that day. We All need to remember to be good to each other. Care about your neighbor. Care about each other. 🙏
I went to Monday Night Football the night before. Broncos versus Giants. I thought the big news the next day was going to be Ed McCaffrey breaking his leg in the game. Boy was I wrong

I spent a few days after in Jersey City putting NY Shippings network/ accounting system back together at a temporary site.
I will never forget the look on the faces of the staff that went through that tragedy. One of which was there for the garage bombing years before.

It’s exactly the same, an indiscriminate attack with intent to kill as many souls as possible. Zero apologies and eternal gratitude to the men and women who answered the call, (both in ‘41, as well as ‘01, and ALL in between). Thank you,Thank you,THANK YOU!
