A little eye candy for you 80's Toronado fans

Saw this in the field while morning cruising about the Lake Champlain area. From a side road just off 9N, Crown Point, NY.

Too bad, storing a car like that will destroy the frame and pans really fast. Grass is an excellent conductor of moisture. No FSBO sign on it....

Not that I could see. I'll ride by again Saturday and knock on the door if someone has a serious interest.

They were a nice sharp looking ride considering FWD. My neighbour had one years ago, the interior was super nice, felt like you were on a cloud driving in it. I doubt its worth saving since the grass has grown almost as high as the car though. Is that a tree growing up from underneath beside the drivers door haha?
It's a shame to see it in that state.

That looks like some kind of station wagon behind it. Any idea what it is.

I think it was a modern SUV but I'll look again tomorrow.

I'll PM you the road. I travel for special courses around the country a few times a year, it's amazing how many people have piles of parts just disintegrating, but they will not sell anything. It's the usual story, somewhere along the line they got taken advantage of and now they are shell shocked.

Years ago (about 30) someone entered a real nice Lemans into the demo derby in West Port. That night the car wouldn't start. I'm not a Pontiac guy but to save it I offered they guy above what it was worth and he was very adamant about telling me "This car is going in next week's derby". Maybe the same guy.

I think that is a Ford Explorer sitting behind the Toronado.

It's too bad the Toronado has been forgotten. Weren't the late 80s Toronados the first GM car to have a digital dash? I think that was a few years after this one was built. Imagine how slick that car would have been driving off the show room floor!

Yes a late model explorer. I Google earthed it and no cars where there in 2015 so less than 2 years of moisture.

Sorry I got your PM back but signal is in and out on the Lake. Google shows another road going behind that in 2015 but I didn't see it. There's where a few cars back there in 2015 as well but you can't make them out. Aside from a few trucks, I haven't seen much else. My morning ritual is hit Stewarts for the big cup of coffee, not what it use be, and find a new back road to cruise. Saw a lime green jacked up early 50's Ford this morning I think on 57. Full of mud, looks like they were having a good time.
