If any of you all live in the SE VA part of the country, there is going to be a parade on the 4th in Newport News. Check it out...

 

Couple of local villages are having them here and are asking for old cars, trucks and tractors to come and parade. Always fun!

I used to put flags and bunting on the 1976 Ninety Eight and put Mama, my Aunt Gray and Aunt Rene in it and throw candy to the kids on the parade route. DK who got the biggest kick, them or the kids.

Good year for fireworks too🎆. Somewhere in the area is having a display every night this weekend.

 

Had about 20-25 cars show up...it was pretty cool to do something different.

Not ice cream Norm, but there was shaved ice. I just kept a big bottle of water handy. 10 am is too early for shaved ice for me

 

Thank you for sharing the pictures. Our best parade is in the neighboring town and has a flyover with F15's from Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls. For me that's a high point in the parade.

 

I saw a couple F35B aircraft about 2-3 weeks ago buzz my house. Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, NC (located 10 miles from my house) received two F35B aircraft 9 June 2023. I think more are arriving weekly. MCAS Cherry Point will have six squadrons with ten F35B/squadron (60 Total).
