I finally "broke" loose the driver's door and began the cleaning process in and around the door. Inevitably I ripped the carpet out to expose the floor pan and found an absolute nightmare. The floor pans are gone. Not slightly rusted, or with pinholes, or with large holes... but gone. My shock was quickly over though, as I found something hiding under the front bench seat (driver's side). The treasure I found is the original car tag. Mississippi plate, Forrest county, October 1968. I think I had mild heart failure...

I can't wait to restore the original colors of the 1968 tag for the 1968 Olds and strut around town proudly displaying the tag in it's rightful place.
