Electrical problem?

My son's truck won't turn over,I think it,s a cable or a grounding problem. It has the type of cables like the chevys not the clamp type. When I put battery pack on the bolts there is no spark you can; make it spark is that right? The bolts go straight in to the battery so it has to be making contact right?

Side terminal? Yes, when the bolt goes in and tightened, it is making contact.

Try cleaning the bolts and the terminal. Pull the plastic cover off and clean the terminal or sand it a little bit, wire brush the bolt.
Had that problem on my Z28.
