Cherokee Nation plates ?

I saw on this pickup license plate what I think said Cherokee Nation on a silver blue and white plate, numbers and letters like any other plate. Is this anything special, maybe Indian land/ reservation plate? If so it"s it's not common in California and we have our share of reservations and casinos here. Could be I just read it wrong, I only had it in sight for a few seconds. Just curious, do you Easterners know anything about this.... Tedd

The Cherokee Nation issues registrations, license plates, and Certificates of Ownership (Titles) that are recognized by all 50-states.

Here in Arizona we have Navajo Nation, White Mountain Apache, and San Carlos Apache plates. It's not uncommon to see these on the roads.

I've never seen one of the Navajo plates. In OK you see Native American plates everyday.
