Caught a tool thief today in the act

I've had some tools come up missing lately. Thought I just misplaced them but today I caught the thief on camera.

Too funny Richard! Hey since there is interest, I believe some training is on the horizon.

I had that same problem with my son (he's now 31) from the ages of about 6 to 17. Seems the 1/4" box wrench was what he needed to adjust the wheels on his skateboard. I'd notice it missing, couldn't find it, and would buy another one. A couple of weeks later, it went missing, couldn't find it, I'd buy another one. A few weeks later, the same thing but, this time, I would find a 1/4" box wrench laying in the grass next to the driveway. Questions would get asked, ultimatims delivered about putting it back where you got it and, a couple of weeks later, the 1/4" box wrench was missing again! The good part about this whole thing is he doesn't live with us anymore (since age 18) so my 1/4" wrenches don't go missing anymore (except for when I don't remember where I left one!). The other good part is now my son gets to go through the same thing I got to experience!

My problem was the opposite, my dad would borrow tools and leave them laying wherever he worked last, and I would have to track them down at his house.

Hehe... Glad to see them learning the ropes!
Now later on if you come home from work one day and you find their tricycle all in pieces in the kitchen sink, be proud!

And she got it wrong again! I asked her to sneak a pulley puller for me! Nice one Richard.

You can also see the top of his head. I tried to get them both in the pic because when she got the wrench he picked up two sockets you just can't quite see his hands.

She also found out that drawer sticking out is the perfect height to bang her her in to. She was not happy about that.

I was happy to see not either one were scared of air tools. My oldest would run for the hills at that age.

Was thinking about it but kind of afraid of retaliation if there is no conviction.

Dad use to blame me for running off with his tools all of the time, until he found out that it was my oldest sister's boyfriend who is now part of the family

Enjoy the moments Richard because they grow up quickly. And if things go well, they will still want to hang out with you when they are in their teens or even older. They do sell pink tools for little girls....might be time to start thinking about it! Going through this with my grand daughter, now 3. She loves to hang out with her dad when he does work and she loves spending time with me if I'm working on something. My wife and I bought her the pink tool kit last Christmas and she liked it. Really enjoyed the "screwdriber" as she called it. Back in March, she watched me change the batteries in a toy at our house. 2 weeks later, we received these photos that my daughter-in-law took as she decided she could do the same thing and she wasn't waiting until her dad came home from work. Got her dad's screwdriver and took matter into her own hands. 2 1/2 at the time. Her mother was stunned and just kept shooting pictures. Love the look of determination. Told my son, an engineer, that he may have her following in his foot steps. And I need to keep an eye on her around here!

I built a mini creeper for my son when he was 4. He loved being under a car working with daddy.
Now he could care less.(15) I may have burned him out on cars/car shows.
He's a sport nut and likes cars but very uninterested in car projects.

Hey drag racing is a sport.

Great pictures gearheads!
