Chassis Colors 1970 442

Hey all, I’m restoring a ‘70 442 and some questions regarding the correct colors associated with assembling of the frame. The car is a Lansing built 442 for reference as I know some plants did things differently. To my knowledge I think the TH400 crossmember should be a natural steel color as I think it was unpainted but I’m looking to confirm. Also is this the same for the engine mounts? Please no guessing as I’m looking for definitive answers from those that know. Also looking to see if anyone knows what the sheen would be for the bumper brackets.

Thank you

Some really good restorations on the build section. Joe Munoz and Eric Jensen's threads are great and both cars have scored exceptionally well. My W-31 resto is on there as well and the car did quite well at MCACN and OCA.

I see some conflicting info here, post 115 says the rad core support should be gloss black but post 116 says it should be 30% gloss

Also springs, should they be black or gray?

Core Support and hood springs

Radiator Core support should be 30% gloss / semigloss black.

Hood Springs should be phosphorus (grey).

ok transmission crossmember are usefully natural steal The frame should be 70% gloss more or less
Control arms a little shinier but not much more than the frame
the rad support little less shinny than frame and control arms
Of note there are 3 shades of black on these cars and they were built by people some variation did happen back in the day
The Eastwood company is your friend here they have very good products

Check one of the three build threads I referenced. Not sure I agree with the specifics posted here.
