'57 Starfire 98 Hood Springs

I'm looking for new hood springs for a '57 Starfire 98 Convertible. Mine are a bit weak and the hood will only stay open about 3/4 of the way.

Have you considered having your original ones rebuilt? There is much information here using the Search feature.

The springs themselves can be rebuilt?

Of course not, I was referring to the entire apparatus. It's probably more than just the springs anyway, but you probably know more.

There is a used set on eRay, but missing one spring. Have you considered contacting a rebuilder? Perhaps they have a set of springs, or could recommend a substitute set for your car. Hope this helps.

Great suggestion! I just reached out to three hinge restorers.

I found a set of springs from a '69 Buick Skylark that fit perfectly.
