Question on Prep for Applying a Sticker?

I bought a GM Mark of Excellence sticker to go in the door jamb. I know the surface has been waxed in the past. What is good to remove the wax before applying the sticker? I was thinking about using alcohol or mineral spirits. Would those do the trick?

They give you alcohol soaked pads to remove the wax before you stick on accessory things so I guess that would do it.

i used alcohol and was good. i also used a heat gun and made the area warm to the touch before applying the sticker.

Thanks, I've got a bottle of alcohol and that sounds like a good way to go.
