Gas Tank R&R: looking for opinions and pics

Hey all, I've received a replacement tank from RockAuto, and have a new tank pad on the way from Mr. Glade, for installation in my '68 4-4-2. I'm trying to decide whether to paint the new tank before I install it, or leave it shiny metal. Anybody who has an opinion and/or photos to share, please chime in.

Thanks.

The tank is coated in a terne metal plating, so what I do is hit it with some WD40 on a rag. Keeps it looking new.

Suggest that you buy new hardware as the old stuff will probably break.

And, use fuel injection hose for all the rubber connections. It is lined to resist ethanol in the gas.

Clean up the original straps and paint them, or if you are really ****, have them re-galvanized.

What I did to my gas tank, I purchased 2 cans of "Gas Tank paint" and " Gas Tank Sealer Kit" for the inside of that gas tank from Eastwood.

Thanks for the ideas, guys! I bought new straps with the tank. Now I need to clean up the mount points and nuts/bolts, etc.
