I am restoring my first car from 1996. It is a 1980 Olds Cutlass supreme. I have a 3 questions.


1. Can I use a 72 model olds 350 engine in this car? I am worried about it mounting up, and any clearance issues.


2. If the above 350 works, cans I use turbo 350 auto tranny in the 80 olds as well?


3. Lastly, I am about to start looking for body bushings. I am about to put the body back on the frame. I have look a little bit, but wanted to know where/how you guys find these bushings.

id go to rock auto .com or summit if they don't have what u need try opg or fusnicks or thorntons im sure theres more out there the guys will chime in

 

I'll at least answer the first two of them. If the car originally came with an Olds V8 and a TH200 or TH250, the 350/TH350 is a drop-in. Be sure to use the water pump, accessory brackets, and pulleys from the original motor on the 72 motor to avoid alignment problems.

If the car originally came with a V6 or Chevy 305, you'll need to find the frame mounts from an Olds-powered car. The 1978-1988 A/G body cars and the 1977-1990 B/C-body cars with Olds V8s all have the correct frame mounts for your swap. Use Anchor P/N 2328 motor mounts.

 

My 80 Olds came with the 260 v8 and whatever auto trans. From what your Saying Joe...I should have no problem with the tranny either.
