Steering box adjusting nut

I have heard that you can tighten the steering by adjusting a nut on the gear box. Any help with this available ? Thanks

if the input to output is loose meaning turning the steering wheel a bit doesn't give anything at the pitman arm, yes you can loosen the locknut and tighten the stud a little at a time until almost all the play is gone. Don't overdo it or you will cause excessive wear inside the box.

...and don't even bother if your ball joints/steering linkage are worn. You need to correct that first or you are overcompensating for wear in the steering box and everywhere else!

Just a thought here, If you learn and remember one little thing every day just think what you will have learned in a year.
