Rear lower control arm offsets

rebuilding the rear of my 70 convertable. which way do the offsets on the lower control arms go? to the inside or outside? the manual shows the top slots toward the back. this would make both offsets on the same side.seems wrong

Both are on the same side. Why make different RH/LH parts when one design fits both sides?
