Hello and please help!

Hi all nice to be part of the group. I have a 72 cutlass convertible and just started digging in. Need to replace all the floor pans. The passenger side body mount bracket is half rotted. Anyone know if they make replacements or repair kit for this?

Welcome to CO, nice color and clean looking car. I am pretty sure you can get floor plan replacements as I recall seeing them someplace but can't remember where. As for the body mount I am not sure, thinking that may have to be fabricated.

Few pictures from a previous build, just may give you some ideas.

Check with Chevelle and GTO sources. Frames and floor pans are very similar if not identical.

Welcome and those parts are available from all the repro sources. AMD and Autobody Specialties seem to have better quality panels - thicker metal that's much closer to OEM and with crisp, correct stampings. Think about how you will brace the body when you remove that torque box to avoid distortions.

So I need to replace all the floor pans. You think it's less work to install a complete one piece floor or do the individual sections?

I'd suggest only replacing the sections of the floor that are bad. Assuming you're isn't really that bad, just a few spots.

Rear quarter brace

Hi again all. Im trying to remove this brace to replace the under rear seat floor pans. It's pretty stubborn and tied? Also do you know what's it's actually called I can't seam to locate a replacement. I'm trying to save it but at the point where I just want to chop it up

Let others chime in , but I believe that's a reinforcement brace used on convertibles. New replacments should be available too.

The part is officially called "Brace, body lock pillar to floor pan". Surprisingly it is the same part used on holiday coupes. P/Ns are 8799606 RH/8799607 LH. It's item 32 in this diagram.
