Newbie

Just taking a quick moment to introduce myself as a new member- my name is Brad, I own/operate a Karate school in Minnesota. I recently acquired a 72 cutlass supreme convertible. This car was bought off the showroom floor by my grandmother. It's a survivor- many years beat on by the older grand kids. It has been in my uncles hands for many years.....he limped it along but certainly did not do much in the means of upkeep so it is now mine to bring back to life! I am excited to keep the car in the family and hope to bring grandma (still kickin at 91!) on a ride with the top down soon!
I look forward to learning a lot through the other members of this forum- as my mechanical skills are minimal and my pocketbook has even less to offer! Ha so it'll be an adventure but one that I am excited to start on!
I guess I'll have to learn how to navigate all this forum stuff too while I'm at it!

Welcome to the site and congrats on the new project. Most of us started the same as you, a limited budget, hardly any skills, a car and a vision. Post some pictures when you get a chance.

Looks a lot better than I imagined. Mechanical is always easier than paint and body.

Welcome! The body looks to be in good shape. As oldcutlas said the mechanical is easier than body work. The top looks to be decent also. Good score!

That does look like a good starting point!! You will enjoy the learning curve!! What does the floor pan and frame look like? Michigan is hard on cars with the salt in the winter. What about where you are?
Good luck, have fun and keep us posted.

Welcome! Congrats on the acquisition and project. That's looks to be the same color my '70 C/S 'vert was. How many miles on it? I doesn't look like many of them were in the snow from looking at those frame pictures. My '70 was from Florida but spent time on the salty beaches, the frame on that car looked worse than yours. Have fun with your project and can't wait to see a picture of your grandmother's face when she gets her ride!

Thank you! I do not believe it saw many winter miles if any. From what I’m told the odometer turned over once so it would have 122,000 on it.
