Front spring rate

1965 olds f85 holiday coupe, originally 330cid 2 spd auto. Going to be 455 with aluminum heads and intake w/ th400 10" convertor. Changing all bushings, steering components, and springs.Who would be the best source for components and how do i now determine spring load and rates front and rear. I would desire stock ride hieght and the car will be seeing track time.

The new engine will be 100 lb lighter than an iron 455, probably 25-40 lb lighter than the 330. If mostly drag strip, try 6 cyl. coils in front. The correct ones are discontinued so you will have to cut about 3/8 coil form each end of Moog 5230 and see how they are; Global West makes aluminum spacers to go under them if more height is needed. You need tangential ends and not too many choices are out there. For mostly street you may want a stiffer coil like Moog 638, and again you might need a spacer to get the height you want.
