1972 Cutlass S Coupe - Front Spring Rate

Does anyone know what the factory front spring rate was for a 1972 Cutlass S Coupe with No AC, Power Steering, 350 2bbl with Auto trans Turbo 350?

My magic decoder ring displayed an LZ code 280lb spring, same per side.

Thanks for the info. I actually have new Moroso 47160's going into the front that are rated at 242lbs.

The signature pic is with 28" Moroso DS2s and stock springs, which sits an inch or 2 too high.

280lb was the lowest rate available on the A bodies in 72. 242 is a bit low, so it will ride smooth but can bottom out easily.

By the way, are springs symettrical? So, does it mattery which side is on the top and the bottom as long as i line it up with the drain hole?

Closed up side is up. Open side is down.
