Exhaust tip fell off

Well, it was close. I have a ghetto Flowmaster setup on my 72. The right tip got loose and rotated over and almost off. I will replace this system soon. I think I can use an exhaust clamp and crimp it down tight then take the clamp off. Welder not set up at the moment.

If you're going to use an exhaust clamp why not leave it installed? You could even invest in some nylon lock nuts or Locktite if you want to drive it for awhile before getting the tips welded on.

Visibility.

I'm not planning on welding it, I'm planning on junking it.

I once took an old tin coffee can split it and made it to fit over the pipe and trimmed to fit the chrome tip. You would have to see back from underneath to even know it was there.
You ma be able to use the same trick with a slim piece of tin. Good luck, let us know.

Update to this. I smeared exhaust pipe glue on it, stuck it on, and put a clamp on it. Liked it so much, I put the other clamp on the other side.
