I have a 1972 Cutlass with a 455, original exhaust manifolds, and a Frankenstein hack-job of an exhaust system...smaller stock pipes were cut alittle after the manifolds, then without welding or even clamps, 3" pipes were slipped overtop of them, throw on some worn *** Cherry Bombs, and you have one crappy, smelly system. Anyway, I wanted to maybe get an idea, before shopping around locally, what are some good combos of pipe diameter/mufflers? What do you think about larger companies like Meineke? Has anyone had expeirence with side exit tubes, either before or after backwheel? And finally, what are generic system going for nowadays, installed? Any input would be great!
