Emergency brake cable removal

Emergency brake cable removal
Good afternoon I'm in the process of doing a frame off restoration and have all the body mount bolts removed and just need to figure out how to get my emergency cable released from the frame. Any helpful hints?? I am stuck. I cannot seem to free up the bolt or nut to pull the front cable through the front of the car. I have already disconnected everything from the guides on each side and have removed the retainer. Can anyone tell how to get the front cable off of the equalizer??? Thanx pics coming soon.

There should be two nuts torqued against each other to lock them. Clean off all the crud - you'll see there are two. You need to hold each of them with separate wrenches to loosen them from each other. Once you do, there are flats where the threaded portion is crimped to the cable. Hold those flats while you wrench each nut off the treads (usually one at a time due to rust).

This part ?
I've seen this done both ways.... With nuts on either side (which I think is wrong) and the 2 nuts together ...
Mine had the 2 nuts on one side, but the nuts were fused. It took a bunch of PB Blaster & vice grips to loosen them...

Yes, that part, but the nuts are supposed to be up against one another (on the
right hand side looking at the picture).
If the nuts are against one another, they will jam, thus creating a positive lock until the next time you adjust the cables.
If the nuts sandwich the cable clip, as in the picture, then the slight twisting movements of normal operation can cause one nut to loosen, which will of course cause the other to loosen, allowing the nuts to fall off onto the road, thus reducing the effectiveness of the emergency brake.

I dunno... "get the front cable off the equalizer" sounds like this connection, but some of these things are best described with annotated photos or explicit references to parts manual designations.
