Rare Color Combo 68 Convertible-Not Mine

I saw this 68 Cutlass S convertible for sale on FB Marketplace in South Otselic, NY. F-4 color/top. Teal Frost with a Blue Top. According to the PIM a blue top was only available with A, C, D & E colors, not F, although those colors were only "recommended". The interior is Teal which will certainly look unique with that blue top. The seller told me the top is now white so someone in the past came to their senses...

The link probably won't work but here it is.

The seller is probably correct that it won't be that hard to get paperwork for it. NY was not a title state prior to 1972. For $1300 it's well worth it even with the Volkswagen seats and poncho engine....lol

I think the ad says the engine is a Buick.

Regardless, out of the hands of a would-be restomodder just in time ... ?

Its a project for sure: "1968 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme convertible project has had some body work and panels done, has 5 black 15” iroc wheels (4 with tires), also have a 69 hood to go with it, all four inner fenders, have the door handles, mirrors, brake drums, all glass is good and intact, comes with the seats as shown in the pics (2001 Jetta seat) comes with a 72 Buick 455 and th400 trans (engine doesn’t turn over) needs work, roof needs canvas but framing good, needs front clip other than hood and core support , looking to get $1300 obo feel free to ask questions could make a rat rod, drag car, or for parts or restore, no papers but dmv said car is clean to file for papers."

This is a D4 car. Not quite as unusual but ya know we like pics.
How about pics and condition description of the frame and underside of the 1300 dollar car.

Yeah, the color combos were recommended but not mandatory. RPO code C02 was required to override the recommended color combos, probably just to be sure the sales rep didn't make a typo. This page is from 1969, but 68 would have been the same.
