Restored 1959 Olds Super 88 Holiday Coupe
Well, I declared my restoration complete in the summer of 2016. Except for come casual cruising and five car shows it has mostly lived in my garage in Portland, Oregon under cover. Now we've decided to move to Colorado to be closer to family and there won't be room for the Olds. So, I have to part with it. Following is the ad I placed on Hemmings:
"This stunning 1959 Oldsmobile Holiday Scenic Coupe drips glamor. Completed in late 2016, it has been to 5 shows and taken 5 trophies. Originally sold to Wayne Soike of Walnut Creek, California on June 6, 1959, this car was built in California at the GM Southgate plant. Purchased in the high desert country of central Oregon in 2011, this Oldsmobile has resided under cover in Portland, Oregon while undergoing rebuild and restoration and is currently garaged in Portland. This 5 year undertaking included the following as well as many other tasks:
Frame off rebuild from the ground up.
Bare metal repaint with epoxy primer and two stage color finish with clear coat.
Completely reupholstered to original pattern. Correct original fabric in seat insets.
Over $6,000 in rechroming bumpers, steering wheel trim, dash, tail light housings, fender rockets, tail fins, etc.
Stripped, polished, reanodized aluminum grille, headlights, interior trim.
Restored and repainted original deep V steering wheel.
Professionally polished stainless trim.
Coker 2 1/2 inch wide radial whitewalls (P235/75R14)
Detailed engine compartment as original.
Rebuilt fuel pump, carburetor, starter, generator, PS pump and gearbox, and master cylinder. New wheel cylinders, fuel and brake lines. Reconditioned fuel tank.
Original appearing AM radio converted to AM, FM, MP3 Antique Auto Radio."
I'm asking $49,999 USD. A buyer can arrange and pay for shipping if desired. The car can be seen here in Portland, Oregon.
I seem to be having problems loading photos so here is the link to the Hemmings listing where there 35 photos in case I'm unsuccessful again!

Let me know what you think. Thanks!
John
