Exclamation 1960 Oldsmobile Super 88

1960 Olds Super 88 convertible. 20 year comprehensive body off restoration completed 2006. Dresden Blue lacquer with correctly patterned tri tone blue and white interior with white top. Power top, power steering and brakes, hydramatic, wonderbar radio, power antenna, rear speaker.
An incredible amount of NOS parts were accumulated and used in the restoration of this car including every piece of exterior die cast (grille included), deluxe hubcaps, taillight and backup light assemblies, complete dual exhaust including hangers, mufflers and resonators, dash trim, shocks and springs, bumper guards and trim, all lenses and plastics, etc. the list goes on. High quality stainless hardware used throughout.
Frame sandblasted and painted correct chassis black, suspension rebuilt, all stainless brake lines, all new body mounts, reproduction bias ply wide whites.
Interior compartment has new floors installed at the factory seams, rockers were replaced. Trunk floors and cowl did not need rust repair. The body is sprayed in lacquer, as original. All stainess trim highly polished (the crown moldings were NOS), all non NOS chrome (including side and vent window trim) is show quality, all rubber parts (seals, gaskets, bumpers) new. Original windshield.
Interior was professionally stitched in the original patterns and is new from dash pad to door panels to carpet. Original top boot. New top well and white top. Correct loop carpet. NOS floor mats.
The 394 high compression 315 hp V-8 was freshened up but not rebuilt as it came from a low mile donor car. All drivetrain accessories are correct and either rebuilt or new. The hydro was rebuilt in 2008. Re-cored radiator and heater core.
This car has been the recipient of numerous awards since its completion including a first place and best in class at the 2010 Olds Club of America Nationals and best engine compartment at the Hemmings Cruise in 2012.
The car currently shows the usual signs of an 8 year old restoration that has been driven. There are minor stone chips, scratches, undercarriage and engine compartment dirt and a few fluid drips. The radio is not hooked up and the clock does not work. It still shows extremely well and is considered a solid #2 car by Hagerty. It performs smoothly and quietly and we do not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It comes with a car cover, owners manual, complete jack and original spare. Restoration photos are available on site. I can answer any questions about the restoration as I was present and involved in the process. We are not interested in trades.

20-year restoration? Wow. By the time you got to finishing the last part of the restoration, it would be time to go back to what you started on 20 years and begin again!
