F85- Plainfield -IL 60586

I bought this car out of Chula Vista, CA in Feb 2013. The body is a 1965 but the vin and title says it's a 1964. ????

I fixed what the prior owner (s) did to the vehicle. It's finally drivable!!!!!!!!!!!

This car has a Chevy Vortec with a 350 trans. It has a Be Cool aluminum radiator , 10 bolt rear no posi, weld wheels with new tires, Flowmaster exhaust all the way out the back. The car is pretty solid. There is rust under the vinyl roof and center section of trunk floor from the top leaking . The interior floors are perfect. I did a front disc brake conversion so it stops well.

I swapped out the lowering springs for stop 65 Sportwagon springs..............sits nicer and tires don't rub, changed shocks, rear are coil over.

The bench seats are dyed black by me. They are in great condition, the interior trim panels are from a 1964 Special that recovered the top and added the emblems. The front carpet is not installed due to the windshield leaks.

I replaced the dash pad. That is an item that isn't easy to find. It has a radio delete plate. The steering wheel was an NOS Chevy and I found a F85 center button. I did replace the column from my parts collection along with a bunch of other parts.

The car appeared that it was painted multiple times. The car was blue at one time. The red paint is peeling and faded and looked to be a cheepo paint job. The car does need paint but it's not a complete rusted out car. The mystery parts is what's under the roof.

The car does have a trans leak, windshield leak, needs the heater box and controls to be hooked up. It has a bunch of rattles in it. The car is a solid start for someone.

$8000 OBO

The car is in Plainfield. IL 60586. Local buyers preferred but I will sell out of state. I can take as many pictures as needed by request so you know what your getting.

Thanks,

Brian

I like to read the description of a car for sale thoroughly before looking at the pictures. In many cases the description paints a picture that matches my mental image and in many cases the two are so far apart its funny (usually not in a good way).

In this case it was the opposite I pictured a car that did not show well at all but your images show its actually a nice looking machine and it sounds like you've done quite a bit of work on it.

I like that even tho some parts arent "correct" they look like they could have come w the car.

it looks nice I like it

Thanks for the kind words ..............I find it better to be honest and have somebody pleasantly surprised v/s building the opposite.

I've done so much more than written to this car that it would be mind numbing to write the list. I've been working on it for 2 months when it wasn't raining. I drove it to a cruise night and it got allot of attention. Needless to say it was the only one there of that model. People were taking photos and even taking videos of the car.

Of course there were at least one guy picking the car apart with a few of his buddies. I found it funny.

Someone will get a decent car.

I would love to move this car ASAP.

Any interest on here? This is a running driving car............needs some stuff but is fun to drive at the moment.

I have it listed on many websites.................I guess not many people looking for a mid 60's F85.

Thanks,

Brian
