It doesn't surprise me. Its a cool car but $6,500 is no deal in that condition.

 

Ive seen it posted before, not on here though. I ran across it on craigslist months ago, however it was in Chicago then as well so it seems legit enough. Its interesting, im just not a fan of anything after 72' though

 

It was on here before and someone mentioned the stripes were wrong but i did know if he was right or wrong. I sure it is 104k mile to have rust in patch panels.

 

I guess you have to consider what the seller means by the listing of 'no power accessories'... Are they only talking about power windows and seats or are they including steering and brakes as well. Consider also the fact it mentions 'small underhood fire' when it looks like a major portion of the hood has been toasted from underneath.

 

I was thinking the same thing. If they are talking seats & windows it wasn't uncommon back then, even on nicer cars.

 

I'm gonna contact this guy, and get the lowdown!

It may be the correct hood, the 73 H/O had the bolt on louvers, the 74 & 75 had the louvers 'indented' in the hood and I'm thinking I can barely make that out on that car, cannot tell. The rear stripe is definitely incorrect, should not extend to the end of the trunk, see below.

 

It's probably the right hood. The 442 had them in the middle like the pics 69Hurst posted. It's probably the same hood as 73 442

re: sanding it? No - if you read the ad it says So I'll go on a limb and suggest the damage was not repaired. What would be a good picture and question to ask is " How much is small?" Is this car even driveable? I'd really like to know what caused the fire.

The thing about patch panels? may suggest that patch panels may be required? Again I don't know anymore than you do on this. Would be good to have a pic. These cars will rust out even when sitting if they aren't stored in a controlled environment. And that doesn't look like an insulated garage to me, nor is Chicago a dry environment. This might just be a nice car waiting to be claimed and fixed up.
