Power steering help...again!

Ok guys, Ive been having some power steering issues and was hoping someone could clear something up for me. On my 72 cutlass my power steering fluid is getting hot. Real hot. Melted the dipstick and everything. So I went in and replaced power steering pump and both the lines. Still same problem. I talked to a shop today and they said there is a spring loaded valve on the pressure side at the pump. I don't remember seeing this in the swap for the new one and can't find it listed anywhere?? Is there really such a thing. If not anyone have ideas on what my problem could be?

Thanks in advance for the help and advice!!!

See if any of this helps you. Sounds like a restriction?

There are a lot of PS specialists around, I'd call one. I use PowerSteeringSpecialists out of Missouri. One should be able to point you in the right direction.
