72 cutlass parts car
the body and frame of this car is shot. the hood could be used maybe but that is a big maybe. most all the A/C parts are there and the system is still sealed up, the dash is not cracked and never had the radio hole cut on. the engine runs but i took the carburetor and water pump off. i may be able to find a carburetor for you to hear it run if need be. the transmission shifts good. soft ray side glass and some good trim. i can deliver for the price of gas up to 100 miles. $600. scrap would bring close to 400 so may be a good deal for someone.

I have a friend with a 72 missing the ac system and the breather vent pipe from the valve cover to air cleaner. Would you sell those parts without the whole car? Or are you trying to get rid of it as a whole?

I think he needs everything but he heater box/ evap core. Maybe his consensor is there, I need to check. Certainly he needs the compressor, brackets and lines. No hurry to get it either. Let me do a good visual on his car so I am sure what he needs and get back to you. Thanks for your help.
By the way, anything ever come of your "Barn Find"?

Last remark is some time ago - car may be gone by now? Anyway, I noticed a towbar on the olds. Was that an option? Is it bolted to the car or welded? I'm really curious - has anyone seen those towbars before?

re: tow bar. That's what we call a 'trailer hitch' over here and it's quite common. Most of the newer hitches are a different design though. That one is a 'light duty' hitch. It is not an Olds option; it's an aftermarket feature. (If you anticipated you would be towing with your Olds, you could factory order or have the dealer install a 'towing package' though). That one looks like it's bolted on. They are available at most auto parts stores over here. If you want, you can always have a welder fabricate one for you in the Netherlands and either bolt or weld it to the frame. Just depends on how heavy a trailer you're planning to pull.

Thanks Allan!
I'll first have to go to the RDW (the DMV over here) to ask which requirements they have. For modern cars it needs to be stated in the design (and / or owners manual) how heavy the load may be, and then the hitch itself should have a maximum load indicated too. I'm not sure how they deal with older cars.
In my mind I'm playing with the thought to make a trailer out of a (crashed) Olds rear clip. I think that would be something nice, although my son accuses me having no taste - what's new?

where i am was bad but nothing compared to other places in Indiana. we had what would normally be considered a bad storm. we had a large amount of hail here. most of it was 2 inches and some as big as 2.5 inches. it busted out car windows at work. my cars were inside here at home but it wasn't as bad here as it was at work. one car had the sun roof busted out and over 4 inched of hail inside his car. we are adding on to our building at work and the contractors didn't show up Friday. i decided to park my truck in the new addition because the back window leaks water. now i am glad i havn't fixed the leak because i would have left it outside.
how are things in your part of the country? i have a harmonic balancer in your neck of the woods getting rebuilt.

Are you still parting out? I need the chrome strip from the driver side back roll down window, I need a flywheel cover(the plastic one, would be interested in the louvers off the hood, and the taillights if decent. Feel free to pm me details, shipping to 01581.
