A nice set of wheels and tires and some nice dual exhaust and that thing would be ready to cruise. I would redo the seats because they look like they came out of a police car but they are in good shape and look durable. That is a lot of car for the money.

Is that duct tape on the steering wheel? And orange wrapping? Ugh.

Are you saying the seller is lying?

Our 69 Olds is as stock as the day it left the dealer show room floor...
The front seat upholstery doesn't look "stock" either. It's hard to tell in the photos, but that paint appears too glossy to be factory lacquer.

Still, nice looking car at a decent price. I'm with Gene on this one.

I'm just commenting on what I see.

Here's something else. In the photo of the steering wheel above, there are clearly A/C vents at both ends of the dash (and apparently one in the middle, but we can't see it).

But I don't see an A/C compressor in this photo of the engine compartment. I see hoses and things that would connect to it along with an empty bracket, but no compressor. If this is "as stock as the day it left the dealer show room floor," then I'm an unkey's muncle.

At least the blower motor works. If only it had something to blow.

That sure don't look like no stock battery nor stock radiator cap, either.

Did Olds use red heater hoses?

Obviously the ad is BS. One needs to look at this car in person. The flat-out false statements by the seller always make me skeptical, but I'm the worlds biggest skeptic on matters like this anyway. Frankly, my top priority is rust-free sheet metal. The rest is all easy to fix. If it were on the right coast, I'd probably own it by now, but as Gene knows, my track record on cross-country car shipments hasn't been great.

That ad clearly says one repaint and seats covered. The original factory paint mentioned is on the engine block and valve covers. Larry

Fine. But the ad is silent regarding the lack of A/C, non-original battery, radiator cap, heater hoses, and that damned ugly steering wheel. He should not be using the phrase "as stock as the day it left the dealer showroom floor" because it clearly is not.

The car may be perfectly fine underneath it all, but he should not be over-representing it as it only undercuts his credibility as Joe P points out.

No one expects a stock battery, radiator cap or hoses 46 years on...on anything other than a trailer queen. But then I forgot where I was.
