Well, that's the first time I ever heard a Delmont 88 described as "a cross between a Toronado and a 442." Nothing at all against Delmonts, but I can picture in my mind what a cross between a Toronado and a 442 might look like, and it doesn't look at all like a Delmont 88!!
This is a nice looking car, though, and the price is reasonable, given his description and the one photo.

Well- Oldsmobile itself called the 1967 styling "Toronado-inspired" so there's the Toronado connection. Being as the B and A convertibles have similar sideview profiles, there's the 442 connection. And all 1967 Delmont convertibles came with 425s, so there's the performance connection. Yah, I know most had 2-barrels...

Looks good. My friend had a red 67 Delmont Convertible. It was his daily driver for years. It had a 425 with a 2 barrel carb and single exhaust. Couldn't figure that one out but it drove really nice.
Not sure about the 442 connection either. Maybe he thought he would get someone excited by that description.

Enlighten us. Or did the Olds Styling Studio not intentionally put similar styling cues on their entire carline? Something about being able to instantly identify an Olds by its styling before you even saw the nameplate?
What I DID say is that I didn't think crossing a Toronado with a 442 would result in Delmont 88.
It was a joke.
