Well the number on the windshield looks like 1500 or 2500. 1500 would be marginal. I would think 1000 would be right on it if it runs decent enough to drive. there is little demand for these cars but it is a 2dr and 4bbl car if info is correct.

I believe the sign says "$7,500", which is consistent with the current price of $5,000.

Does it have a console with the bucket seats? I like to think that adds value to this style of car, if for no other reason, because my car has it. It's all about condition. $5K for a rusty mess is a bit nutty. It looks fairly straight in the pic, but that is meaningless.

Actually, this is not true!
At the moment, the Canadian dollar is worth more than the U.S. dollar. It's worth 1.00598 U.S. dollars, at least at this instant, to be exact.
Thus, $5,000 Canadian is $5,021.91 U.S.

"1.00 USD = 0.993651 CAD," or
"1.00 CAD = 1.00639 USD."
You're right- I'm so used to the CAD being justa hair less than the USD that I did it backwards!

There's a few more photos, including one showing duct tape across the top of the rear seat. But the interior doesn't look too bad overall.
I like how there's some snow on it. He could't brush that off before taking the photos? I KNOW what snow looks like!
The April 2012 edition of the Old Cars Price Guide lists the value of a 1966 Delta 88 two-door hardtop in #4 condition (runs and drives but needs complete restoration) at $3400. In #3 ("car show" but not showroom), the value given is $7600. I agree that it may not be worth as much as the $5,000 he's apparently now asking, but I don't think it's a $1000 car, either.

Oh. There's a "Classic Cars" section.
I was looking under Olds and 2-door. Wouldn't have found it anyway, as he listed body style as "other."
Thanks, Jaunty.
Yeah, that's the first thing I noticed, too.
Guy couldn't be bothered to brush the snow off so he could take pictures to sell it - I bet he took real good care of it while he owned it.
I'd go lower rather than higher on that car.
The interior's wrecked (note not only the duct tape, but the T-shirt over the front seat), he admits the engine "needs rebuilt" (which to me means, "has a rod rap"), the paint is unserviceable, and he lists a bogus mileage of 10,000km, rather than giving a ballpark figure (does 10,000km mean 68,000 miles, or does it mean 128,000?).
And finally, as Joe said, he's claiming it's "numbers matching," when that year has no numbers that match, which means he's lying. What else would he lie about?
Maybe a bit north of $1,000, but nowhere near $3,400.

I think the real value (or lack thereof) is in the body. Is it rusty or not? If so, where and how much rust? If it's rusty, forget it.
If it's a rust-free car, it'd be a nice candidate for resto. With these big cars, nobody really cares if it's "numbers matching" anyway, so that's meaningless. It is a fairly desirable car though (speaking as an Olds big-car enthusiast - I know, I know...) with the buckets & console and red on red/no vinyl top combo. Pretty unusual.

Also, the window sign claims a 365hp 425 - which I believe would be a Super Rocket hi-compression 4bbl single exh. Unfortunately, he doesn't show any engine photos, so we don't know which 425 is really there. Would be a plus if it was actually the Starfire version.
