1988 Cutlass Supreme International $3,000

W-Body guys you may appreciate what I just came across located in Wilmington, Massachusetts.

Hot Rod Magazine May 1988 had a glowing write up at the time.

"The most advanced Oldsmobile ever, the Cutlass Supreme International Series incorporates some of the most advanced engineering techniques."

MotorWeek liked the car overall, although were disappointed in power. When testing the stick version.

What's even worse, when those '88 fwd cars came out, the dealerships were putting huge markups on them- and getting it! Poor "gotta have the next new thing" people. They always fall for it. Now it's worth what, about 2 iPhones?

Decent price for this one, not a bad deal if the motor is strong. This is the Int'l series, top of the line in its day. From what I can make out, the paint on the hood, roof & trunk are looking a bit weak and this will only get worse, it may even start peeling. One minor thing, the ash tray is probably shot. The plastic gears that operate the open/close mechanism probably popped. Since this is the Int'l series it probably has the FE-3 suspension package standard. A really nice find 69HO43, well done! Excellent video, too, right on the money. Best point was the ABS braking system, which my 94 does have.

One thing they should NOT have done on these cars from day one are those DAMN DOOR HANDLES in the b-pillar (on the coupes). Total junk. Cutting down on the coefficient of drag? By how much? Big deal!. I'm on my 4th one on the driver's side of my 94 CS. The passenger's side still has the original DH but it's sticking and it's on its way out. And the repops? Absolute garbage. Fortunately I now have NOS ones for each side for the next time, and there will be a next time. And, they don't like cold weather, they freeze up leaving you unable to get into the car. What a disaster of a design. Thanks for listening to this rant.

P.M. sent to deaddds. Also, these door handles can be adjusted somewhat but that doesn't last forever either............once they're done, they're done
