1971 Olds Cutlass Supreme Convertible

I kept this for a project, but time and life didn't cooperate. I would like to find someone who would appreciate this for their project. I'm located in Farmington Michigan and offer this at $8500, as is where is. Car is licensed and road able. Its been a long time since it was on a long road trip. I would prefer to be contacted by email. Start subject line with CUTLASS so I won't overlook it. lmorgan916@aol.com

I voted high, but I don't think you're high by that much. Maybe $6000 to $7000? There appears to be rust, possibly serious rust, behind the wheel openings, and, in some cases, all around them. Without more info on this issue, it's hard to say for sure on a value. Rust repair can be nasty and expensive.

Only reason I voted too high is because there isn't enough info to really evaluate it. So lacking full info, I always fear the worst. Nothing personal and just my opinion.

When I see a guy who posts tons of revealing pics inside/out and under, and discloses the good the bad and the ugly - well, that goes a long way in justifying an asking price IMO.

I voted just right as you got to start somewhere, and it's a vert! You can always come down, however it's impossible to go up! Also it's a running driving car, and not a basket case!

Good luck and let us know what you actually get!

I voted too low because $8500 leaves a lot of room for body work & paint, however, $8500 should generate some attention.

I voted to high. Don't know the engine size or trans. I got my conv. for $5800, it was a driver also. From the look of the pics your body is better. The engine and front end was rebuilt on mine before I got it. Without more info in this economy $7000. IMO

Out of the question - that car has rust in all the same places that my silver car did...it cost me $7500 just in bodywork to get it fixed. And, if there's that much rust on the lower fender / quarters...who know's what's inside.

More pics and some information about the engine might change my mind but from what I see...you're way out of the ballpark. My blue convertible cost me $11,000 from the original owner and you can look at the build link in my signature to see what kind of shape it was in when I bought it...it's perfect.

This one has rust in most of the key areas that I can see, which means it probably has rust in all the areas these cars are prone to. It also needs a new top ($$$$). If you find the right buyer they may hop on it...but there's no way I would. I would need to buy that car at about $5,000 because it's needs $10-12K right off the bat.

Too High

I went with too high because I recently bought a 71 Convertible that had all the bodywork complete along with new Nordic Blue paint and rebuilt engine and brakes for 75% of that price. Now, I do need a full interior and top, but everything I need in materials only I can buy for the differance in what I paid and what you are asking.

Good Luck with the sale, though! I love the Convertibles!!!

I voted high. Just going off the 4 pictures. Don't know what is under the hood or what the interior looks like, and how bad the rust is.
