1971 Olds 442 W-30 (not mine)
1971 Olds 442 W-30 (not mine) BAT link as follows: 1971 Oldsmobile 442 Hardtop W-30 for sale on BaT Auctions - ending July 1 (Lot #77,576) | Bring a Trailer
"This 1971 Oldsmobile 442 hardtop is powered by a rebuilt 455ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and it has been refinished in its factory color of Sienna with a white vinyl top and matching white stripes over a Parchment-colored interior. The car was factory-equipped with the W-30 package, which included a scooped fiberglass hood, sport mirrors, and contrasting stripes. The car was delivered new to Big Two Oldsmobile in Mesa, Arizona, and spent time in Illinois before the current owner acquired it in 1998, reportedly from the second owner. Equipment includes an Anti-Spin 3.42:1 differential, power-assisted steering, front disc brakes, heavy-duty suspension, Strato-Bucket front seats, a power-adjustable driver seat, cruise control, a Hurst Dual-Gate shifter, powered windows and door locks, an AM/FM radio, and an 8-track player. This W-30 442 is now offered on behalf of the current owner with manufacturer’s literature, a production data card, a spare set of wheels, and a clean Illinois title."

Very nice car. I am not a vinyl roof guy but still a nice car. Heavily optioned.
Way better than this very poorly put together 1971 442:

What confuses me is that I was under the impression that 1970 was the last year for the Production Code A and B sheet format, and in 1971 the heading format changed to Production Code 1, 2, 3. At least that is how it is explained here:

Àlways for me one of the biggest tip offs is the towel rack. Rear spoiler. You very very rarely saw a rear spoiler on an Oldsmobile back in the day. I remember ONE non Rallye 350 car with one. ONE
Why not just be honest out of the gate. This world is so full of bullshitters. I would have more respect for someone and their car if you just said hey it started as this and now it is shown as this. Of course I get shot down constantly for calling out fake cars. The constant stab at me is So What. You can't build one for that. It sucks how many people on this site and many others that defend fake cars.
PS: Good friend of ours back in the day had a Mom who had a 71 442 in this color with the brown interior. Buckets and column shift car. I absolutely loved that color.

What I will never understand is why the usual suspects always go off on something they NO factual information on like this 71 W30? I knew the guy who bought this off the original owner back in the 80's still wearing the original paint, while there were a few dealer adds when new like the wing and at one time it had an over the counter W27 as well but all the power options were there from the factory. It is a real W30 ordered new from Big2 Oldsmobile in Mesa Arizona so please do a little research before you make stupid comments showing how little you know about it.
BTW I am the guy with the original transmission for this car and will gladly put it in the hands of the current owner or the new owner if it sells. Also the car is 51 years old and if it has new inner fenders so be it they don't wear well with age, the car has been maintained at a high level over the years but things age and owners handle aging parts differently someone decided the inner fenders weren't as nice as they could be and replaced them. Get over it.
If someone seriously considering this cars reads the crap written in this thread it could affect the value on a car for sale. I don't have a personal stake in this car other than the original transmission but I don't want it trashed on here by people who don't know anything about it period. I can't vouch for the paperwork on this car pictured on BaT but I know the car is 100% legit.

Beautiful car except the bumperettes(?) and if interest rates weren’t flying through the roof I’d pull out some equity and make a bid- 1971 is my favorite year. I was actually hoping to, but we have a 2.375 rate and can’t justify it lol.
But how can anyone be surprised in this day and age with car flippers and fake documents etc? It’s cool someone has a connection with this car but regardless, anyone should know there’s gonna be skeptics.
Imagine how bad the market would be if there weren’t people calling out stuff!

"Earlier this month, GM set out to create some more buzz surrounding the 2023 Corvette Z06 (and help a charity) by auctioning off a 1-of-1 Z06 along with a matching NFT. But the auction failed to attract a single bidder. Yep, zero. At a time when the markets are down and cryptocurrencies are evaporating (cough, scams, cough), this isn’t a huge surprise. On the other hand, you’d think someone would jump at the chance to own a 1-of-1 Z06 regardless of the artwork attached."
