Not mine! Craigslist find. Looks like a nice rig! Must have air shocks, riding a little high in the back.

Wow!!! This is nearly identical to my very first car back in 84! The only difference is mine had A/C, and this one has 72 grills. Same color, same blue cloth interior (which you don't see a lot of).

Nice looking car.

Aren't you required to post prices on Craigslist?

I contacted seller and told him that his title was incorrect 1972 Cutlass Supreme and that it was a "71". I was thanked for my troubles and asked if was interested? I told him that I already had a twin to it already, except mine was a "70".

No, but it sure circumvents "the how much will you take" calls.

I don't know what he's looking to get out of it, but he's got some competition.

That Ebay car is a 71. I don't think a 72 was available with the "halo" vinyl top.

So I went to look at this car today. The car is a 71, the dealer wasn't quite sure but the vin showes a 71. It is a late March build, so I don't know if that explains the 72 grills.

I have to say honestly, this car is BEUTIFUL! The car is just about to turn over to 30k and it shows it. This car was WELL taken care of. The underside is nice a original (clean). The seat look original and still have a lot of spring to them. I don't know if they even reproduce that style seat, vinyl with cloth inserts. It looks like the original paint, a little dull but very nice. Doesn't show it's age at all. The chrome is beutiful too. It's a great honest original car.

It took a few try's to start but it started and ran a little rough, nothing that a good tuneup wouldn't fix. I didn't drive it but I would imagine its good.

Someone brought up that it has to have air shocks, and it doesn't. The only thing I seem were a set of coil over shocks.

I asked the dealer how much he was asking for the car, and of course he danced around the subject. I told him straight out about the eBay car with 12500 original miles for 12k. He said they needed to get more for theirs, bit they would entertain any real offers. So I'm guessing in between 12 and 15.

Like I said, its a good honest original, very nice car. Is it worth 12-15k? I guess that's up to who likes it. I would like to see it kept the way it is, not "pimped" out.

It doesn't. Prior crash repair is the likely explanation.

I really hate it when you can't get a honest price up front. "What will you give" really gets my goat.

The car sure does look nice though. And getting a real nice original really is less expensive than building one yourself. Correcting the grille shouldn't be to big of an issue. So long as the car doesn't have any signs of damage. Things get changed over the years and the original grille could have been damaged somehow along the way and fixed with the 72 grille.

I looked at it really good and I didn't notice any damage or signs of repair. But these cars are notorious for a low speed or even parking lot damage of the grills. The front bumped buckles so easy.
