Joe the point is why leave a add up when there is no car for sale. That is why I said not a real car. That is why I suggested moving the post to a different forum. Jmo

Presenting the Hurst Hauler........
Even Linda approved!
This didn't require any body mods, simply replaced the rear hatch.
There was one made for 3rd gens as well:

Johnny, those Pontiacs remind me of the Chevy Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe. I'd hate to have to fabricate rear glass on an Aerocoupe or one of those hatchback Pontiacs... or the roof of a Vista Cruiser for that matter.

I hear you. I remember a neighbor's uncle who purchased a white MC Aero Coupe new and said he considered it an investment. There was also one of those Pontiac Gran Prix 2+2s (silver) that had a similar rear glass in town I used to see a couple times a year (but not for the last 25 at least). Sure would not like paying to replace that.

I own the Vista 2 door hardtop. 2 were made. One black which rotted out. 350ci and auto.
I was told it was destroyed in the days of ''Cash for Clunkers''
Mine was white when I purchased it. it is now Viper red base coat because primer doesn't hold out water penetration.
There are a lot of NA SAYERS on the internet about my car. I say where is your proof.
Look at the undocumented COPO cars built at the time.

I was about to open a thread on that ad but decided to do a search first, and lo and behold its here. The part that really gets me is "8. Vin number is proof it was manufactured as a 442 and Vista."
Vista guys please enlighten me, I am not a wagon guy. I know it should start 344 if its really a 442 but what is the magic number or letter code that would make it a Vista as well if that's even possible ?

Interestingly, carole71 does have an album of photos of a 2 door Oldsmobile Cutlass wagon.

I wish the pics were better.

That thing, if it ever drove, was lucky it didn't roll.
Two things I don't like about rare factory model bullshitters. The first is that they don't avoid pictures of areas with important data, they arrange the picture so that it just "happens" that the important data is obscured. Reflection over the 442 digit in the vin, or the 72 engine code in the same, a bracket or hose or bad angle on a casting number, washer hose in front of the 442 trim code on the cowl tag on a 67, etc, etc. At least they're dishonest to everyone; want to fraud everybody else, and they're lying to themselves about how good of a shyster they are. The second is the "I will make an outlandish claim and provide no proof. You disagree, where is YOUR proof?" The burden of proof is upon he who makes the claim; not the skeptic; extraordinary claims require extraordinary provenance. GM made certain car combinations, and the system works, like all manufacturing, under the principle of "everything which is not allowed, is forbidden." 2 door Vistas were not allowed, therefore they were forbidden. It was not "everything which is not forbidden is allowed" (the opposite principle); 2 door Vistas were not allowed because they were not explicitly written down not to make them, which is what this guy seems to want. Oh, when the bullshit artist is not the smartest, nor most informed, guy in the room.

Vistas had a unique model code in years 1968-1972, namely 48xx. The Vista VIN for 1970 will be either 348550... if it was two-row seating or 348650,,, if it was three row seating. The xx55 and xx65 body style codes were all four doors with extended (121") wheelbase. There is no existing VIN combination or Fisher Body style code for a two door Vista.
Lol, man i'm glad I did a search before I opened a thread on this thing. You guys would of really wanted to kill me...

We won't crush it...at first. We'll have a barbecue and bring it there with sledgehammer, sawzall, torch, jaws of life, baseball bat, and a 12 gauge sitting next to it so people can express their offense.
Then we'll crush it.
Then we'll crush it.

Of course, it doesn't say WHO made it.
The real problem with this mash-up remains the discordant body lines that you get by melding a Vista with a Supreme Holiday Coupe. The pillar just looks like crap.
