1970 442 Orig 455
This is the first 442 I have seen with a painted top. That was probably a much better choice than a white vinyl top for someone who did not want a solid color. Was the hood pinstripes also a factory option, or added later by a prior owner?
Beautiful Challenger, love the pic side by side with the 442.
I can understand you being torn on which direction to go.
If this helps, a nice 2008 Hemi Challenger SRT8 is worth 1/2 of what it cost new. While a nice 1970 442 is worth 10 times more than new ...

One of the members asked me for Trunk pics
in my opinion, the trunk is solid as a rock besides six pinholes which I would say is about 2% of the Trunk. I would never touch it. It has a homemade black carpet that lays down over it that didn’t offend me because he cut it to fit of course one day I would probably get the correct Matt, but I thought this was fine for now .and then it has the original spare. See pictures I could stand in the trunk as it is super solid besides, the few pin holes. they could actually be seam, sealed and brush a little black over them and you never know they were there. But I wanted to mention it.
This car is on restored. It just has a repaint and a rebuilt engine. The original spare is amazing shape as was the build sheet behind the backseat.

I have a car with the white painted roof as well. The original owner told me all the 442s at the dealership had white painted roofs. The dealer's thinking was the white color would keep the car cooler in the summer, especially with no a/c.
