1967 Olds 98 LS survivor $3000 in Southern Oregon

Hi All
I looked at a car the other day and although I drooled over it I have too many cars already. The car's owner died 7 years ago and the little old lady who now owns it doesn't drive. A friend of a friend told me about it and he changed the gas, oil and got it running. It came from the factory with a darker blue and black vinyl top, but the interior is original. Many years ago the driver side fender got wacked and when they changed that the wife talked her husband into painting it the color it presently is. The pictures make it look darker than it is, the turquoise color is very much like the one kennybill has in his signature line. The car has power windows, seats, tilt/tele, AM/FM, AC, remote trunk release. It also came with the California emissions which are all still there and intact. There's a small box on the drivers side inner fender liner that's some kind of after market doo-dad probably to get better gas mileage. It does have the 425 4bbl TH400 setup. It's not perfect as there's a few dings in the stainless and some rock chips in the paint were touched up with a brush. But I believe it's been garage kept through its life and the husband was a car guy who tinkered and likely maintained this car very well. Except for the doodad on the fender liner I believe this car is very original and very complete. It started it's life in Texas and came to Southern Oregon many years ago. Both are dry climates and I see no evidence of rust anywhere on the car. If your interested please contact me with any questions and I'll talk with the owner for your and/or get any photos you'd like. John

Very nice find. I like the mid-90s car show dash plaques and writing the part numbers right on the air cleaner.

Kind of like twin Sisters. Mine has the same color interior. I hope someone saves her. Good luck. Ken

Yes, I hope someone wants a big cruiser. This would be sweet for road trips, large and roomy.

I may not have been clear, the little old lady who has it is the widow of the car guy who had been driving it. They were second owners and I didn't ask her when they got it, but it was when they had kids as they used it for the family car when they first got it.

Oh, man, John, that is a great car. I love the LSs.

If I were 2,500 miles closer...

I hope you can help find the right buyer for that one.

Yes, I hope someone buys it that will take care of it and keep it nice. It really needs an Olds person to own and enjoy it!

John,

I have great interest in purchasing this car. I am from North Dakota but I will be in Oregon from 1-25 to 2-2 on vacation. Is there some way we can arrange for me to see it?

My dad had a '67 98 ls when I was growing up. It was my plan to restore this car that my dad owned but unfortunately it was stolen before I could make it right. The '67 98ls has always had a special place in my heart. It would mean a great deal to me to be able to own this car.

thank you

PL

Hi PL
Sorry, but in the last couple weeks I've had three other people express interest in it. I've made a verbal commitment to a member in Texas. I believe he will follow through with the purchase but if for some reason he doesn't I'll go down the list offering it to people in the order they contacted me. John

PL, what part of Oregon are you going to be in? You got me thinking... I work with a guy who's father-in-law used to have a car like this. I thought he was in South Dakota, but are you by chance visiting a sister in Medford Oregon? John

Heck Eric, one-way Southwest ticket, drop by, fire it up and drive it home. Though to be fair, the fuel costs might make the plane ticket cheap.
