1967 Delta 88 convertible
SOLD
Yes, this IS my car. It's a new year, a new decade, and after 10.5 years of ownership, and a lot of fun along the way, I'm ready to send it on to its next home. I don't have a ton of storage, and I'd like to ultimately get a '77 Toronado XS to complement the '78 I bought in 2017.
Asking $6,000. The car is in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Full details at the craigslist link below. Always happy to answer questions and/or provide more photos (craigslist limits you to 24). The car isn't perfect, but few things that are 52 years old are. But it is very good.

Values for a 1967 Delta 88 convertible in #3 condition:
Collector Car Market Review: $7,575 (yes, four significant figures)
Old Cars Price Guide: $9,900
Hagerty: $15,300 (typical Hagerty "where do they get this from?")
What I finally sold the car for: $5,500
I very deliberately priced it low. I bought the car more than 10 years ago, and what I paid for it and what I've put into it over the years have long been amortized. There was no "investment" I needed to recover and no certain dollar amount I needed to make. The car was a hobby. What I spent on it I could have easily spent in some other pursuit.
You can have one of two goals when you sell a car: 1) sell it, or 2) sell it for no less than some minimum price. They're not the same thing, and many people choose the second one. Then they end up with the car sitting unsold for months.
I agree that the fellow who bought it made out very well. He came over to look at it with his wife and an SUV full of kids, and he was planning to take the kids cruising around town with the top down (you can do that in El Paso in January--high temperature today--mid-60s). But I made out well, too. I sold the car quickly (less than a a day) for a not unreasonable amount of money, and I now have space in my garage and some cash in hand to make way for the next project.

Here's a couple from mid-November at a Veteran's Day car show in the parking lot of a local Walmart.
Here's a thread from early 2017 on my getting the car.

Here's a thread with photos from later that year when it came out of the paint shop.

Here's a google photo album I created with a ton of photos taken more recently, last September, after I had just washed and waxed the car.

I have two sets of tires/wheels for the car. I have one set, shown in the top photo above and in the google album, with blackwall tires, painted rims (I painted them because the chrome finish was dying, and I thought it easier to have them sandblasted and then paint them), and I use Toronado dog-dish hub caps that came with the car.
The other set, which can be seen in the photo below and in the second of the the classic olds threads above, have tires with the whitewalls facing out and full Toronado wheelcovers.

nice looking 67 ,somebody got a super nice ride, did you mention a 77 toro XS?, i have one for sale , owner had the body dipped, super nice paint , straight , rechromed bumpers, has sunroof , light metallic blue , appears to be original paint color for that year, transmission rebuild ,with maybe a bit of tweeking, owner died 2010ish, wife sold all of his stuff at action, she did not have a clue to any information on any cars ,parts, has older 455 engine 1972 ish, ceramic coated exhaust manifolds, etc, man spent several thousands on this car, interior has not been redone, missing some pieces, windows not in doors, light blue pillowy interior, hood will not shut properly because he did not use toro intake and carb, has cracked windshield, needs heater core, needs complete interior , it does run and drive, has been under cover in storage since 2011, i could probably find pictures to send you, this year i am cleaning house and this car is for sale, $2500.00 thanks marc d miller

Thanks for the info about the car. I would really prefer one with its original powertrain. With the hood closing problem, needing an interior, etc., I think it's a bit outside of what I'm looking for.
