1967 Delta 88

I'm cruising down Martin Way near Olympia, WA today and see a 1967 Delta 88 for sale in a consignment lot! I couldn't believe my eyes, so I turned around to take a closer look, and it's the real deal, and it's by far the oldest car on the lot! If you go to www.BandCAutoInOlympia.com, click on "Martin", you will see it. I took some pictures of it as well. I would say it's been garaged for at least some of it's life, and it's mostly original (including the 425ci engine - 389244D block, 397357 intake manifold, 394548 heads; alternator and water pump have been replaced, didn't look at the carb). It was put up for consignment by the original owner (according to a salesman I asked), and has just under 90K miles on the odometer (I suspect those are original miles). It's red with a black vinyl top and black interior, the front seat has the fold down arm rest, no tears that I could see in the interior, remote driver side mirror, no A/C, and I did see water in the trunk and moisture in the back window and the interior smells musty. Could be a nice find/buy for anyone looking for a fairly decent 1967 Delta 88. Phone number for the consignment lot is on the web site if interested. I don't know anyone who works there so I'm not promoting anything - just getting the word out!

It's a very nice looking car, but if it smells moldy and has water in the trunk, it's not a $6,000 car. I'd say more in the $3,000 to $4,000 range, if that. I paid $4,500 for my '67 Delta 88 convertible last year. It had similar mileage (around 100K), with a pristine interior and top, no rust at all in the trunk, floors, etc., but with faded paint. And it's a convertible.

This car sounds similar in the sense that it's got some positives, including what appears to be good paint and an interior that can be cleaned up, but negatives as well including potential severe rust issues.

I'm always checking craigslist and ebay for Olds 88's and 98's... But some of these guys want a war price for the ones that look no more than a rust-bucket... I was on a forum not long ago where a guy had a 1967 Impala SS, and he was asking $28k for it.... This car was nothing but a rust-bucket... I emailed the guy about his car and told him there was no way he could get 28k for it.... His response was "its a classic, its worth it"...

That 67 looks good, but 6 grand is a little steep in my eyes for it.... But never know might be some dude willing to pay that price...
