Cleaning engine bay

I need some advice. I want to clean my engine bay, besides the air filter and distributor, what other parts should i cover up? anything on the firewall? Im going to use a degreaser and will be going to the car wash

If you have an external regulator on the firewall, cover it, basically anything electrical. Also avoid high pressure spray at any gasket seam (valve covers, front cover, fuel pump etc.)

thanks frank! i think im just gonna wipe the firewall clean and not actually spray water on it then..

Great tip! And that way if you get something wet you shouldnt have, you will remember what you were squirting just before the engine died so the next time you'll know not to get that thing wet again.
