Is there a way to add rear discbrakes to my B-body wagon? It has the 5X5 bolt pattern. I am wondering wether maybe a disc brake setup off a GM pickup would work.

 

I would look at the Moser or Stange web sites to get an idea if they would work.

BTW an 84 Delta and a B body wagon, I envy you very much

 

The rear disks from the 91-96 Impala/Caprice should bolt right on.

You'll probably find more rear discs on '94-'96 Impalas and 9C1 Caprices. . .

I don't think so.

The B body cars had a lot of the same parts from 78 to 96. I didn't know the rear disk from a 9C1 or SS would bolt right on though, only the Wagons in the 80's had the 5x5 bolt pattern, the B Body cars were 5 x 4.75

 

The 91-96 cars (sedans and wagons) all used the 5 x 5 bolt circle. The rotors will fit the earlier cars (assuming it's not a J88) but you may need to machine the hub of the axle shaft or make a spacer to get the rotor centered properly. Similarly, you will need to adapt the caliper brackets, as the bolt pattern on the flanges of the axle tubes may not be the same.

 

The early Cad Seville use the 5x5 bolt pattern. You may have to weld up the brkt holes and redrill. I'm not sure on that. I use the set up on my early 57/64 rear end. Like "Joe" said machine the axle face and I redrilled the brkt to fit my rear end. Now I have four wheel disc. I also used the Seville master cyl.

Actually, the 76 Sevilles used the 5 x 4 3/4" bolt circles, 77-79 used 5 x 5. While these also work, these days you're a lot more likely to find whale-body Caprices in a wrecking yard than first gen Sevilles.
